Montserrat and Grandview… For us they are synonymous with total relaxation and treasured moments. From the first day we set foot on the Emerald Island and arrived at Grandview our lives were forever changed. The residents of the island made us feel at home immediately and the convenient, quaint, spacious and private location of Grandview has provided countless enjoyable experiences whether we were staying there alone or were vacationing with up to 3 couples/close friends.

The accommodations in each of the 3 private suites (main house, pool house and lower level) were all clean, spacious, comfortable and provided bathroom/showers and sleeping areas that were airy and plenty of storage area for everything we brought. The kitchen was well appointed, providing everything we needed for meal preparation, serving and entertaining while the patio off the main house was the focal point for enjoying meals, entertaining guests and provides welcome shade when enjoying the large and clean pool. The veranda on the side of the main house provides an excellent private sunbathing area and along with the main house living area, patio/pool area and sea facing deck, provides a spectacular vista looking out to the Caribbean Sea, Rotunda Island and Nevus. As if that is not enough, the surrounding garden areas provided constant fragrant enjoyment for the olfactory system and occasionally fresh limes and coconut for cocktail hours.

On our first trip to the island our first stop after Grandview was Woodland Beach, the largest beach on the island, just down the hill less than 3 minutes on the same road as GV. Love at first sight, and this paradise would be where we would go to enjoy the beach, water, “Green Flash” and eventually became the focus of the most memorable day of our lives together, where we got married.

We look forward to getting back to “The Island” and Grandview soon and we are sure your experience will at least equal ours.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Grandview with its easy access to Woodlands Beach. The relaxing week spend diving, fishing, swimming and sightseeing, not to mention nocturnal stargazing and viewing turtles nesting @ Woodlands was splendid. Boat trip to Plymouth capped a great trip to Montserrat. Support from Susan, Winston, Jackie and the pool guys were awesome. Two sips today from Runaway Ghout shall ensure a return visit. I like Montserrat and Grandview because I can drink Ting! We have TV with PBS kids. I like going to the Volcano Conservatory and seeing the photos and movie there. I like the beach because I go every morning with Mama and jump the waves. I like the villa because of the pool and because Mama keeps falling off the big floaty raft. I like the pizza with pepperoni at Tina's. I loved the airplane ride back to Antigua when the captain let me sit up front with him. I took beautiful pictures of the sunset over the ocean from the villa. There were goats and chickens that tried to cross the road when we drove. I have been there 3 times when I was 5, 6 and 7 years old.

I keep asking my parents when we can go back again!

A beautiful, unspoiled, friendly, safe, and "non-touristy" island! A great place to get away from it all. The house is lovely, in a nice quiet neighborhood, and is a very short walk to the beach. The house is a fabulous place to relax and is very well maintained. The beaches on Monserrat are truly special: beautiful sand, great swimming, and virtually empty. It's like having a private beach! Our young son loved jumping in the waves and swimming; I enjoyed the snorkling. Go to Ziggy's for dinner at least one night--it's awesome! (but make sure you get good directions) This is a great island to explore because the locals are very friendly and helpful and the island is very safe. If you really want to enjoy Caribbean life, and not just be a tourist, this is THE place to be.

I have enjoyed five luxurious vacations on Montserrat. Three vacations were spent simply enjoying the tropical climate, rich culture, and good food.

We shared one vacation with friends who so fell in love with the island, they decided to get married at our beach! We celebrated back at the villa with the help of local catering, had a remarkable and memorable weekend.

Susan’s villa Grand View is comfortable and inviting. We never tire of the view of the Caribbean; we keep watching to be sure Nevis never moves, and await the green flash at sunset. What a life! When not just ‘being’, we swim in the lovely pool, enjoy local eateries, cook at home, or delight in a special meal at Ziggy’s.

The pool house affords privacy for us and our guests…a perfect arrangement.

The black sand beach is a short 10 minute walk, and is unparalleled in beauty. I think Woodlands beach is the nicest on the Island. The sunsets from poolside and the beach, are spectacular. And the warm, welcoming people make me feel like I am coming home, each time I return to Montserrat. I used to go to the Caribbean 40 years ago and Montserrat is as safe and close to untouched paradise as the larger, better known islands before they were mass developed.

Just writing this makes me want to reserve a vacation!!! It has been too long…
