Could not have asked for a nicer place to stay! Steve and Sheila were great. If we had any problem whatsoever, they were right there! Ruby lived next door and would visit every so often. She was the most well behaved dog I have seen in a long time, if ever! The house was huge and very nice. The kitchen was wonderful! The view was to die for! The patio was private enough you could sunbathe nude. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. We had a small boat which we took out several times. The bay is very shallow so we had to be really careful when boating. As far as having things to do and places to go, we were a mere 10 miles from Key West. So many restaurants and so little time! Although we did not have to go far for great food. Kaya Restaurant was a mile from us and for a great Sunday brunch, Zaza's was just a couple miles north of us.. The little market out on the main road had a great deli.

So Good We Want to Move Here

Choosing a perfect place to stay on vacation is sometimes tough. I spent weeks trying to decide. My diligence paid off and we found this gem. Where do I start? When we first booked our vacation we had very high expectations. To our delight the vacation exceeded our expectations. Stephen and Sheila were extremely helpful and the house was stocked with all the comforts of home. The beachy area for kayaking was perfect. The water and the landscape were incredible. Our days were spent at the beach with our children and evening were spent barbequing seafood on the large deck in the evening. The pictures do not do the property justice.
Make sure you go to Kaya. The local restaurant that is within walking distance. Great food and drinks. Kid friendly too. Stephen and Sheila were so hospitable. From the moment we arrived, they were there to help. They own an exclusive party rental company on the island. Stephen, even picked us up in his limo and took us to get groceries. How fun. A first for me. I must say, as soon as I got home that amenity was not available her in Illinois. :) We also took a couple of trips to nearby Duvall Street. Far enough from the tourists but close enough for a 15 minute drive to see all the sights.
My son was able to make friends quickly with the neighborhood kids. They came to play with him daily. It was great. From fishing daily to swimming in the beautiful pool to playing under the waterfall. A trip he will never forget. He still Skypes with the kids.
My family and I loved it so much, we are considering moving permanently. This property along with Stephen and Sheila are top notch. The area is safe, peaceful and friendly.
You can't go wrong staying here.
(p.s. I almost forgot to mention RUBY. She became one of the family. This is Stephen and Sheila's German Shepard. We fell in love with her immediately. We asked for her to visit and she did just that. A true treat. The kids loved throwing coconuts and watching her fetch. A real sweetheart.)
