Stavlo is a self contained studio with it's own kitchen and wet room. This is very popular with teenagers.
A feature of this property is it's extensive terraces with a wide range of seating areas to accomodate extensive outside al freso dining. There is also an outside kitchen /eating room, boasting a BBQ, rotisserie and outside oven. Perfect for shade in the heat of the day and romantic candle lit dinners under the stars. All meals are normally taken outside during the summer months either by the barbecue area or on the terrace tables.
The villa posses a charm all of it's own, has all mod cons but keeps it's great greek feel!
St Nikolas Port is approximately 4 min away by car and offers a lovely beach with free sunbeds and excellent tavernas. Long Beach is a large beach approximately 15 min away again with good tavernas. And on the coast road (the road you will journey on from the airport to the Villa) there are a number of other accessible beaches. There are also many isolated coves which can be accessed by boat, boat hire also being available locally. The sea is perfectly clean and most of the beaches are stony rather than sandy in the north of the island (covered with a light shale). There are a large number of tavernas available within 10 to 20 min of the Villa, and especially across the mountain range to Volimes and Anovolimes.
PELIGONI, is an exclusive sailing club located approximately 5 min away from the villa. The club offers a wide range of sailing activities, waterskiing, tennis, table tennis and superb dining. Check out party night on Wednesdays and Saturdays for fun and frolics!
For those searching for a lively night life on the island this can be found at Alikes, Alkanas and further away down south at Lagana (famous for the Loggerhead Turtles). There is something for everyone.
Boats can be hired locally to visit the remote beaches, caves and beachside tavernas, you can also take escorted trips to the Blue Caves, famous Shipwreck Cove and ancient monasteries. There are daily ferries from the nearby port that go to Kefalonia (Captain Correlli's Island) and ferries to the Pelaponese on the mainland and other islands that go from the main Zakynthos town port.
Zakynthos town is approximately 30 minutes by car and is a thriving cosmopolitan town, rich with history and beautiful architecture. It has a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants and is well worth a visit. The port for mainland Greece (about 1 hour away by ferry) is situated adjacent to the town. The town has an outside theatre and busy nightlife.
The villa is set on a hillside in the beautiful village of Korithi. St Nikolas port, which has 2 medium-sized supermarkets is only 4 min away by car. If it is each Friday night in the port there is a great Greek evening at the L'Astoria Taverna on the beach with live music and dancing. On Tuesday evening's Nobelos a lovely Taverna by the sea holds a fine dining and live music evening under the pine trees.
The village of Volimes, is well worth a visit and attracts tourists visiting the locally made beautiful crafts. the village of Katastari is some 30 min from the Villa where there are a number of larger supermarkets selling a larger range of products. The island itself is approximately 25 miles long by 3 miles wide and is covered with a central mountainous spine, olive groves, cypress trees and orange and lemon orchards. The views and around the island and in particular the north of stunning and well worth exploring.
Aeolus is our much loved summer home. We have had the villa for approximately 12 years and spend a lot of our time out there in the summer, letting it out only when we come back to the UK. This means that it is more homely and comfortable than properties that are purely furnished for the letting market and an additional income.
