Tranquilizing views of Monterey Bay beckon from virtually every room in this lovely 3-bedroom, 2-bath hilltop home nestled in a friendly Pacific Grove neighborhood within walking distance of the coastline and just a hop, skip and a jump from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The location is ideal, just blocks from downtown Pacific Grove, with its delightful assemblage of shops and restaurants, and the 7-mile walking and bike trail the wends along the shoreline. Monterey, Carmel and Pebble Beach are all less than a 10-minute drive away; Big Sur about 45 minutes.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by complementary hors d’oeuvres and wine or sparkling cider, passes to the famous Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey, tickets for a tasting at Scheid Winery in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, local organic coffee to start your mornings and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush bathrobes, oversized towels and everything you need for a day at the beach.

A short flight of steps from the sidewalk takes you up to the front entrance and a panelled hallway with a bedroom on the right and the living room on the left. A long, narrow balcony runs along the front of the house affording a spot to breathe in the fresh ocean air and watch the gulls and pelicans soar over the blue waters of the Monterey Bay.

The house combines nostalgic '50s architectural touches – such as lots of built-in wood cabinets – with sophisticated contemporary seashore-themed décor in ocean blues and browns set off by crisp whites. The panelled living room, which has stunning bay views, features wall-to-wall windows, a beamed vaulted ceiling, a gas fireplace, a sofa, loveseat, a wooden coffee table and an antique bureau. Serenade your loved ones or enjoy a family singalong at a grand piano. Relax with popcorn and watch movies on a flat-screen TV.

An adjacent open dining room, also with gorgeous bay views, has a wooden table and chairs for 6.

A telescope is provided for up-close looks at sailboats in the bay. A bank of built-in cabinets (with a pass through window to the kitchen) provide storage for table linens, games and puzzles. Prepare gourmet meals in a handsome kitchen that has a sand-colored tile floor, white tile counter-tops, wooden cabinets and a central work station with a built-in electric stove top. Other appliances include an oven, dishwasher and microwave. Breakfast or casual meals can be enjoyed at a square oak table with 4 Windsor chairs. A nook with a washer and dryer is nearby. A back door leads to an enclosed patio -- partially framed in glass to let in the water views -- equipped with a picnic table and grill. Flowering plants such as primula, camellias and roses provide bright spots of color.

The master bedroom, with a large window that looks out to the lush plants on the back deck, has a nautical theme with deep ocean blue and white patterned coverlet and pillows on the king bed, wooden end tables with tripod table lamps and an armchair. The master bath, with white and pale yellow tiles and navy blue towels, and has an enclosed shower.

A second bedroom has a king has 2 coverlets, one white and one turquoise blue, a white wooden dresser and bedside tables and table lamps with metal bases shaped like tree branches.

The third bedroom has twin beds with seafoam blue quilted bed coverlets, encaustic sea-themed artwork, a white wooden dresser and bedside stands and blue ceramic table lamps. An additional bathroom, also tiled in white and pale yellow, has a tub with a shower.

Two cars can be parked in the driveway. On-street parking also available. Note: There is a separate studio rental on the lower level of the house that is not included and may be occupied during your stay.

Pets are welcome.

Fabulous views and beautiful home!

This home was impressive! The location was beautiful, easy to access, and roomy for all. Everything was clean and in excellent shape. There were plenty of rooms and bathrooms for our group - 6 adults and 1 3 year old. We were greeted with wine, cheese, and crackers and a table 'set for company.' The kitchen was clean and held plenty of everything to make meals and such right there. We could easily walk to downtown Pacific Grove, the Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row area, the Monterey wharfs, and the beautiful walking/jogging/biking trails. We were here for a family wedding, so a lot of our time revolved around those activities, but we enjoyed meals on the ocean front, trips to the yogurt shop, and chowder on the wharf. We would recommend this home to anyone.

Great Place to stay for those with cars, and able to walk & hike. Great yard for pets! Fabulous Views and close to MBA Cannery Row Grocery stores and Beach walks. Parking was a challenge and House interior and comfort was exceptional. With 3 couples coming and going perfect set-up. We had several co-op dinners and kitchen was well stocked with pots & pans and space. Our only negative was the piano, which we could not use took up a lot of space we could have used to accomodate TV viewing and socializing. Also far too many 'knick knacks' to have a place to put 'our' stuff. Many worried we would break something, and it felt cluttered. Signs could have been more 'polite' and left in house book which we all carefully read. MBA Membership passes can be used more frequently than we were told in advance.
Go for it. Lovely place, clean and quiet. Worth the cost when divided x 3 couples.
(FYI - Master Bedroom mattresses needs replacing.)

This was truly a sanctuary. We spent 4 lovely days with our family in this home and it was perfect - beautiful views, great amenities, perfect location. The home was clean, elegant, but comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed and more. We walked to Aquarium (passes provided), to Cannery Row and beachfront; rented bikes to ride the 17-mile drive, and relaxed on comfy couches. We can't wait to return!

Our two night stay at this home away from home was great. The house was spotless! The views were wonderful and beds were very comfortable. The home is also very convenient for walking into Monterey and Pacific Grove. The Monterey Bay Aquarium passes were very handy and helped defray the admission costs. The kids loved the "Jellies Experience" at the aquarium! Wish we had been able to vacation longer, but now know where to stay when we return some day.

I would most definitely recommend this vacation home! Thank You!

The property was very spacious with enough beds for our 6 person family. The twin beds were perfect and the day bed in the living room was great to lounge on. It was clean and the kitchen was well appointed, with a great selection of pots and pans and place settings. The plates, bowls and utensils were like new. It really felt like a vacation home. We loved the many electric candles that made the ambiance very calming at night. The few issues we had were quickly resolved by the property manager.

Nice home, but too much like Big Brother watching

This is a lovely home that is kept up nicely and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay there except for the fact that there were little notes of admonishment all over the house. We read the rules before we came, we read the rules when we arrived, and we were forced to read yet more rules practically every time we turned on a light switch or the stove or the shower or whatever. Very annoying and actually put a damper on our visit; even the kids (ages 9-12) mentioned all the silly little signs.

Also, there is a nice new grill for visitor's use, but the rules state that guests must clean the "belly" of the grill or be charged $50. Huh? Talk about ridiculous. Completely understandable that the top grate and surfaces should be cleaned, but the inside???

Last, the check-in and check-out are later and earlier, respectively, than every other place we looked at. One or the other would be okay, but a 10 a.m. check-out is not so pleasant, especially when combined with a 4 p.m. check-in and a short stay.

Overall, it was a nice house, and I would return, but I would try to deal with these annoyances first.

Dear Robin,
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. Being from Reno we don’t ever see the beauty of the ocean or the wildlife of the sea! WOW Three glorious days of sunshine… What a blessing! Your home is cozy and had everything we could have needed. We all had a wonderful time, loved looking at the ocean while having breakfast and at the end of each day. Thank you also for the aquarium passes! What a treat. All in all we felt right at home and will remember to check availability here first..

We’re very happy to have found this house- our holiday has been very relaxing and “serene”. Pacific Grove is a charming town and the coastal scenery is amazing! You’ve thought of everything on could need.
