We had a wonderful time in Freeport. The condo was beautiful and clean and quite large. I spent most of my time on the deck. The condo is back from the beach and you can barely see the ocean but still nice. The condo is very conveniently located, close to everything. The shopping centre for food and alcohol is an enjoyable walk away or a 5 minute drive. Maria had mentioned that things were expensive there but we found that they were less than what we pay at home so I suppose that depends where you live. We would certainly stay here again.

This condo is a great value. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, and attractively decorated. The Coral Beach Condo complex is an older development, a bit dated but the gardens, pool, and beach areas are all well cared for, safe, and very nice. The beach is gorgeous, with a beautiful uncrowded mile long stretch for a lovely morning or sunset walk. The patio bar/restaurant is fun and convenient, although generally the food standards and restaurant quality around Freeport could use a tune-up. We cooked most of our own meals in the well equipped kitchen and were able to shop at a newer supermarket nearby. We were also bought fresh lobster and fish right on the beach from a local diver. Bring your mask and snorkel - shallow areas right off shore are full of coral heads and brightly colored fish. This is a great place if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time with a mix of seasonal, mostly retired residents, and families with kids and couples on vacation. If you are looking for a big loud party after dark you won't find it here.

Freeport and Grand Bahama Island are one of the best travel bargains around. Air connections are easy. Freeport is only 70 miles from Florida. Beautiful beachfront accommodations like this condo are very reasonably priced. US and Bahamian dollars are interchangeable. And best of all you will feel a world away, warm in the gentle Gulf Stream breezes without having to fly 4 or 5 hours to a security fenced resort in Jamaica.

Our stay at this condo was very peaceful and relaxing. The owners were excellent to work with, responding promptly to all emails. The condo is very well equipped and felt like a home away from home. A variety of spices, lots of cookware, beach chairs, coolers, lots of towels/linens and 2 couches in the living room - 1 for each of us for that afternoon nap! The condo is situated on a corner so there are windows on 2 sides of the living room which makes the room feel that much brighter and with both windows open, a very comfortable cross breeze could be felt so that we hardly ever had to use the air conditioner. This location within the complex was also very quiet and we seldom heard anyone around us. The restaurant and bar on site was an added bonus and whenever we felt we didn't want to cook for ourselves or buy a bunch of ingredients for beverages, we could just walk down to the pool to get all the food and drinks we desired. The beach at this location is one of the nicest we have seen in the Caribbean. Fine white powder-like sand with very few broken shells so it was a delight to walk in and we enjoyed our walks to Port Lucaya along the beach. We also used the road to walk to the Port and did not find the traffic intimidating whatsoever. The people of Grand Bahama are very friendly and kind as are the other residents at Coral Beach. This would not be the place to go if you are looking for lots of action and entertainment. But if sitting under a tiki hut on a hot day, reading a favorite novel and sipping on a tropical beverage is your idea of a great vacation, you can't go wrong staying here. We will definitely be recommending this condo and Grand Bahama to others.

All in all, we were pleased with our stay at the Coral Beach over New Years. Inquiring about and then booking the condo was easy and straightforward - the owner is very responsive and helpful, and very good at laying out all the details we would want or need to keep in mind in the planning process.
The condo itself was exactly as described - spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished, well equipped in terms of linens (I loved the towels), beach supplies, kitchen items, and even added features like DVDs, books and games. the shower was really good, which is important to me. There was a book of guest comments there which was great for offering feedback and suggestions of activities on the island. And we had been given the names and phone numbers of not one but two local people to call in case of emergency, which gave us great peace of mind.
My husband and I lived in that same neighbourhood in the late 1990s and knew the building well. The years have not been kind to the building, which seems not to have had much maintenance work done, nor to the city itself, where development seems to have stalled and residents are struggling to make ends meet as tourism volumes shrink. Infrastructure problems remain, so we only had about 15 minutes of internet access in the week we were there and during a trip out to High Rock we heard reports of a power outage there. But all of the elements over which the owner had control were consistent with what was promised.
The beach is still gorgeous, and the pool bar has been renovated and is a great place for a snack or a drink, and we found the Coral Beach staff to be extremely friendly and helpful.

Great Beaches! Excellent location and comfortable place to stay. The view from Maria & Tony's master bedroom and balcony is great! Condo was clean and cool with all the amenities for your vacation. We even extended two more days! I recommend this place highly and will definitely return......

We are so thankful to have stumbled upon this charm of a vacation home. Everything was just as we had hoped. The condo was very clean, organized and well stocked with all necessities and conveniences. I enjoyed coffee on the patio each morning and waking up to the spectacular view and sound of the ocean. The end unit provided privacy and quiet which is what we escaped here for. All of the interesting artwork added such a nice touch to this home. When the kids became bored, we were thankful to find games, movies, cards and other activities to keep them occupied while in the room. The owner did a wonderful job of maintaining this unit, communicating with us in a timely manner and meeting our needs. Thank you Maria for all you did for us to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and memorable. We hope to return here in the future and highly recommend this unit to other travelers. We had such a wonderful time in Lucaya at this super comfortable condo. I can't wait to go back! The location was perfect, the food and drinks at the snack bar were great, and the beach is fantastic. (Great pina colada!) The condo itself is very comfortable. The bed is super comfy and we slept like babies. The beach chairs they provided were wonderful, and there were a few beach towels in the linen closet. The beach bag got a lot of use as well. We were at the beach every day, rain, wind or shine. A couple highlights of the trip were snorkeling at Dead Man's Reef, Lucaya National Park (go really early and bring your swimsuit) has the best beach, and lunch at the Gardens of the Grove, and the best dinner we've ever had at Flying Fish. Save your pennies and eat there at least once, you won't be sorry. You need to rent a car from Brad's car rental, and you will be able to see everything. I want to go back!!!
