Columbus w/e - Family getaway
There were three generations who stayed at this lovely home for three nights during the Columbus Holiday w/e, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time there. The home is described accurately on the listing and the photos portray it well. The only problem we found in the description is that one Double room does not have a double bed, as stated, it is a single bed that sleeps only one person, and the other Double room has a set of Bunk Beds, which were great for the kids, but they are not a set of full size beds, as stated. I think this could be confusing if you are attempting to organize sleeping arrangements before you arrive and then find less sleeping accomodations than you thought. There are many activities to enjoy w/o leaving the house. We had so much fun with the paddle boat and canoe on the lake, riding bikes, playing games of basketball and having ping-pong tournaments. It was warm enough Fri. & Sat. that the two oldest children and one adult went swimming in the lake. Regarding the owner, she was great to deal with, responding to our inquiries before we arrived. Bill, the care taker, was very responsive as well; we had a couple of things that needed taking care of and he came over and took care of them right away. One disappointment was that the wireless connection was not working during our stay when some in the party needed to get work done on their laptops. Though there is a desktop computer downstairs that worked well. Also, the odor of sulfur which occurred at times when you opened the faucets was not very pleasant. Overall, I feel this is a great house for a family or group of friends; large enough so that people are not getting in each other's way. I would definitely recommend to family and friends and hope to rent the house again in the future, being fully aware of everything and cognizant that Silvia will take care of the wireless connectivity problem and anything else that needs correcting. Thank you for being patient while our wireless internet was not working and our water system required repair. I am glad you reported these things to me, so that we could take care of both.
