Bring your tooth brush, sunscreen and swim suit! Excellent beach location and ocean front view.
What a comfortable condo to spend our 9 days in San Juan! The view is stupendous no matter what time of day you are on the patio. The kitchen looked like it had everything anyone could want to cook or bake (although we did not use anything but the refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot!). The entire condo was in immaculate, spotless condition. We have rented several times through VRBO before, but never had such a beautifully maintained place. The internet service was fast and easy to use. The condo also has a DVD player but we did not have time to try it out. The bed is also very comfortable and plenty of towels. During the day while in the condo we left the doors and windows open for the cross breezes and did not need air conditioning. We did use the air conditioner at night because we did not want to leave the inside door open, even though there is a security door. It does has a nice deadbolt lock, but my husband has traveled too much in Asia and did not feel comfortable leaving it open. (I know there are no monkeys in Puerto Rico, but in some places of the world monkees are trained to go in through small openings and grab keys, wallets, jewelry etc.) There is complete privacy, so no need to cover the windows. We did not use the shades so I do not know if they are room darkening or not. We immediately felt at home in the condo and there was nothing lacking. All the instructions were perfect.
Most days we did jump in the ocean at least once. The beach is wide, clean, and has a sandy bottom. There are showers by the pool for rinsing off the salt water and sand. The pool also is large and appears well maintained. We noticed beach chairs in the condo, but we did not have time to use them.
We appreciated having Walgreens right across the street and did go to Pueblo Grocery twice for drinks, snacks, fruit and water. Most days we were off sight seeing and hired a guide for a wonderful tour of Camuy Caves, Arecibo Observatory, and Window Cave. We also did an evening tour of Old San Juan (OSJ) which at $35 a person and a $5 tip for two hours of walking around seemed a little expensive compared to other walking tours we have done in other places. Taxi prices were confusing and varied a bit from what is published on line or in the Que Pasa Magazine. We were charged $16 for the ride from the airport to the condo. For the ride back, he said $13, which is also more than the published rate. One day we waited at the bus stop for an hour with local peop
Tourists without a Car,
Owner's Response: Dear Kaia and Mark, thank you for your detailed review, it helps other prospective guests! I'm so glad you liked the accommodations and found the condo to entire satisfaction, and more! We strive to keep it that way so that we can have repeated guests and referrals. I agree that taxi cabs can be tricky: they have published rates but then added another $1- for gas, and charge $1- per luggage - I recommend always asking before jumping in, and better yet, ask security guard downstairs to call you the cab - they know their people and a more trusted source. Please come back for another visit anytime! Best! Sonia, Felix, Milie
