Justin grew up in Rockport and graduated in 1992 from Rockport High School before heading to East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Justin returned home after graduation, received a Master of Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, and met his wife, Marcie, in the North End in Boston. Justin was an Environmental Analyst for the Environmental Epidemiology Program at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for 13 years before resigning and starting up a vacation rental business in 2013. Marcie is a Quality Assurance Manager for web hosting application development at Thomson Reuters in Boston. Justin and Marcie live with their two girls - Ava Mae (5 years old) and Sadie (2 years old) - at 40 Atlantic Avenue. The Salty Dog Summer Stay encompasses the whole ground floor of our home and we reside on the 1st and 2nd floors.
Justin's great grandparents bought the house in the 1940s, and his step father and aunt grew up there. In 2005, Justin and Marcie were able to purchase the property from the family. At the time, the house was in disrepair. Justin and Marcie slowly made major renovations and were able to restore the house to it's original grandeur that attracted Justin's great grandparents to buy the house in the first place. Justin and Marcie take great pride in their home and are fortunate to be the third generation to raise their family in such a special place.
Location. Arguably, the best neighborhood to live in Rockport. We are minutes from Old Garden Beach, Bearskin Neck, Headlands, Rockport Harbor, Shalin Liu Performance Center, and downtown's shops, galleries, and restaurants.
