Why Melanie W. chose Charlottesville

My husband and I purchased this home while our 80 year old farm house was being rennovated. We keep it for friends and family to stay in during visits and holidays. The house sits on 25 acres in the middle of a horse farm. Very tranquil and scenic. The ideal place to just get away from it all.

What makes this estate unique

Short distance from downtown Charlottesville and UVA with restaurants and shopping. Very rural and quiet. Large Fireplace and open space for groups and family retreats. Ideal for families visiting Charlottesville during football season and parents weekend.

Overall this house was great. We didn't have any issues and everyone really enjoyed their stay. We would rent this house again if we are in the Charlottesville area. The house is very close to two great vineyards, Blehiem and Trump. They both have great views and great wine.
A couple of items that would have made the house even better. 1) Having a kitchen table or eating area that held 10 people. There isn't a place inside or outside of the house were all 10 of us could sit together to eat. 2) Enough place setting for the entire group, there were only 6 or 8 large plates so someone always got left with the smaller plate. 3) We didn't use the grill but if we did and had to feed 8 or more it would have taken a while to cook on the small charcoal grill.

Stayed here with a total of 8 guests for a long weekend. There was ample space for all of us. We especially enjoyed being out on the deck and huddled around the coffee table playing games. The location was perfect in the heart of the wine trail which made it very easy for us to travel to the wineries. The house was well equipped and clean. The outdoor grill was in good condition and we used it to make dinner one night. The one drawback is that the master is the only bedroom with an en suite bathroom. We were under the impression that another bedroom would have an en suite. No big deal, just something we had planned on. A suggestion would be to add window coverings in the master bedroom to allow for sleeping in. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely recommend staying here!

We rented the house for a girls weekend to relax, hang out, and your the wineries. The location was beautiful, as the house is secluded, and you can enjoy the outdoors. It was only a few minutes to the wineries. We stayed in and cooked, with the kitchen having ample cookware, utensils, dishes, and spices....the one downfall was no blender. The dining room seats 4, but the table is large, so we added kitchen chairs and were great! The house was very spacious, and we certainly had enough bathrooms for us to get ready in the morning. My favorite part about the house was the wood burning fireplace, it was so nice to sit by the fire, talk, relax, and watch the snowfall. Overall great experience, how was clean, and we all enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. We went to Thomas Jefferson Monticello and then to Wintergreen Resort (Wintergreen was a little over an hour but to get away from hustle and bustle of resort area) was perfect for us come back to house and relax. The fireplace was one of our favorite features - we built a fire everynight and everymorning - it was sooo relaxing. The house is very clean and well equipped. The internet was working - we used ipad and computer with no problems. The kitchen was very functional and we enjoyed it being so close to family room. The kitchen has spices and everything. One bed in pictures is not now at location - it sleep 10 comfortably but 12 someone would have had to sleep on couch. They had the game monopoly in family room, my family also enjoyed this. The property was beautiful and we loved the location, Felt very safe, a community enviroment. I recommend this rental and hope to visit again.

This is a fabulous service - highly recommended. Pictures and words could not describe how beautiful the location and property are. The homeowner was very helpful and patiently answered all of our questions as we walked through this service for the first time. The location and layout descriptions were very accurate. The homeowner was in the process of having an updated internet system installed that will be a plus to all future visitors. Lots of extras were included in the amenities that don't typically come with rentals (i.e. paper towels, laundry soap, etc.). Monticello, wineries and lots of shopping and dining options are within a short drive. This property is well worth it!
We would suggest a larger dining table to accommodate the full occupancy at one table and additional dinnerware settings.
