Beautiful Mountain Home in Vail Colorado, minutes from the free shuttle and within walking distance to Lionshead. The house is nestled on the side of the mountain with large views from every window of the spectacular Gore Range. There are four spacious bedrooms each with their own bathroom and includes two master suites at either end of the house. The house also includes a half bathroom for guests upstairs. Perfect for one or two families on vacation to enjoy all the activities close by. A gas fire place with two large decks allows ample time to study the beautiful peaks of the Gore Range while your food cooks on the barbecue or in the fully stocked kitchen. Just like Sir George Gore, an Irish baronet, who visited the area in the 1850’s on a hunting expedition, in which the surrounding mountains were named after. But we promise you will be much more comfortable.
Summer: Summer is becoming as popular as Winter. Mountain or road biking, hiking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, rafting, kayaking, fishing and hunting, as well as many festivals and cultural activities are available and easy to get to. Fly fishing in Gore Creek is less than a 5 minute walk from the house.
If you care to hike, in summer, the high aspen meadows can be filled with the blooms of red columbine, Aquilegia elegantula lambstongue, Senecio integerrimuslovageoshaLigusticum porteri common harebell; and wild rose. Watch the aspens change in the fall to a patchwork of colors you’ve never seen before.
Winter: In winter fresh white peaks touch the dark blue-purplish sky as you and your family ski all day on Vail Mountain considered one of the best winter resorts in the world. From the house you take the short 5 minute walk to the bottom of the hill where the free bus is, you can take that to the ski lifts or even the grocery store if you don't have a car. The ski lifts are in the center of the town so the non-skiiers will also have a great time walking around Lionshead village with the spectacular shopping and first class dining. Vail Village is a short walk, or bus ride if it's too cold outside, where the little town is set up like a Swiss Ski Village. The many things to do here include winter wonderland festivals, tree lighting, snowball fights. A favorite bar to grab a beer and hang out is the 'George' which is right before the covered bridge. The kid friendly restaurants allow something for everyone and the famous steakhouse 'Russell's' is always a favorite.
