Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4)

It is like a dream! Adorable cottage with breathtaking gardens and a private pond on Mill Creek. And it is walk to town! Your only problem will be deciding where to relax--in the gazebo overlooking the pond, in the hammock beside gurgling Mill Creek, on the covered front porch watching birds frolic amongst the flowers, or in the secret garden. (We're not telling!)

The charming one-level cottage has been fully updated. The master bedroom features a queen bed and full bathroom with a walk in shower and twin copper sinks in an antique cabinet. The second bedroom has two twin iron beds and access to the second fully appointed bathroom. Yes, of course there is air conditioning, Wi-Fi, cable, a gas fire place, and a whole house generator so your vacation is never interrupted by a power outage.

The eat-in kitchen has stainless appliances, including a dishwasher.

Further Details: But you'll probably choose to enjoy your meals on the covered front porch, which has a dining table for six, along with gliding chairs ('cause they're even better than rockers), and lots of seating. Walk around the corner to the uncovered porch with another table, more seating, and a lovely view of the pond. Squeaky the Hummingbird frequents here.

The covered back deck has a gas grill and leads to the garage which houses the washer and drier. Your one well mannered and thoroughly house trained dog under fifty pounds is allowed, but please ask it not to chase the gnomes rumored to live in the meadow...

This lovely location is a short walk to town, to Mirror Lake, to the Bascomb, or to the Rec Center. It is also on the greenway trail.

Because this property is located on Mill Creek and has a private pond, it is not suitable for toddlers or young children.

Our home is called Magic Meadow. Come fall under it's spell!

"Magic Meadow" is indeed a magical place to stay in Highlands, NC. My husband and I have been visiting Highlands for many years and this is by far our favorite and the BEST place to stay! You are close enough to walk to town, yet you feel secluded in the surrounding quiet mountains. This house and the property are absolutely beautiful! From the fireplace with a remote, to the wrap around porch, pond, waterfall, gazebo, and creek, this property is magnificent! Magic Meadow is the perfect place to stay in Highlands!

Fantastic Mountain Home !!!!

My fiancé and I spent a wonderful 9 days in this beautiful home, all I can say is the moment we walked in the door we were just blown away. The home was spotlessly clean with extremely high end features. Everything about this home was perfect and way above our expectations. We would highly recommend this place, the location, even though in a neighborhood was so private. We will definitely be back for sure. A solid and perfect 10 !!!

Magical Time

A really beautiful, cozy home. You never know you are only a short walk to town. In the past we have always rented someplace secluded for privacy and quiet, but Magic Meadow still gives you that right near town. Our dogs loved to play in the creek on property and the pond and landscaping with their own waterfall was perfect to relax by and read a book. The house was warm, well appointed, with updated bathrooms and a nice master. The dining room is outside on the covered deck and sometimes to cold to use but great when the weather was warmer. The property is big enough you don't even know you have neighbors. We'll be back!
