Stayed for our honeymoon, and had an amazing time. This condo is exactly as advertised: right on the oceanfront and next to Magic Sands Beach. Magic Sands Beach is really convenient, great for boogie boarding or just relaxing, with some good snorkeling right below Kona Magic Sands as well. On our second-to-last morning, we watched a whole bunched of spinner dolphins swimming and jumping right in front of the building from the outdoor deck. Great location on Alii Drive, with an easy drive into "downtown" Kailua-Kona and good restaurants, as well as a good launching point for beaches/coffee farms/other sites further south. There is a lot of variation in unit quality in the Kona Magic Sands building, but this unit is in excellent, brand-new condition (and bigger than most with the outdoor deck...only available in a few units above the restaurant). The unit is newly renovated and well furnished, and it was really great to have the air conditioning and in-unit washer/dryer. Only warnings (as mentioned elsewhere): unit is on third floor, with no elevator (this was actually preferable for us, as we felt we had much more privacy than other units, but may be issue for people who need accessibility) and, as the owner notes, keep all food sealed and in the refrigerator (we never had a problem with ants because we did this and were vigilant about cleaning...but this is probably a problem everywhere. This was easy to do in this unit because the fridge is full-size and brand new, and there were ample cleaning supplies available in the unit -- dish soap, towels, etc.). Overall, this is an excellent choice for staying on the west side of the island.
