Small mouth bass biting at Cedar River

I just rented the cabin so my sons from Indiana could have a place to fish and relax, while I was able to stay in Menominee with my Dad. I live in Colorado so it was a meeting point. We spent most days together...planning to fish, then fishing, relaxing, watching silly movies late into the night. My sons caught a total of 19 small mouth bass and one northern. Most of that action was on Wednesday when it was pretty cool out still. The fishing slowed down the next two days, but they still caught a few small mouth.
The cabin is exceptionally clean and pretty inside. I was fascinated by one big dresser one of the bedrooms and a big piece used for an entertainment center in the family room. We didn't cook much there but the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. There is a great big table perfect for meals and playing cards. We went into Menominee for the fishing stuff we needed and for groceries. A nice restaurant there is The Landing which has a less expensive menu if you go early. That's what we always do, and we weren't into dressing up that week so our clothes were OK for that time.
The Lighthouse Pub has a great perch lunch or dinner and my kids had that just as they were leaving to go back to IN. They said they would like to do the exact same thing at the exact same place... next summer. And we probably will.
There is a nice, but big dog up the road... and the neighbors were very good about retrieving her (she likes that spot for swimming). It's pretty funny until you start fishing. Again, they were down to retrieve her within a minute or two of her appearance each time she came to visit (that is, swim).
My son was glad he didn't bring his big boat, but he coveted a small fishing boat to troll up the river.
We had such a good tme. Thanks, Dan.
