Four Corners cabin
I usually don't stay at nice places such as this, however my girlfriend thought it would be a nicer place to stay than camping out in the back of the truck in the middle of winter. Reluctantly I agreed, and as it turned out, the stay was above my expectations. On our initial drive to the ranch, we witnessed the most colorful sunset I've ever experienced.
The cabin was as advertised, and as clean and comfortable as it appeared in the pictures. The heater worked extremely well, and the water was cold, fresh, and clean straight from the tap. So bring your Nalgene bottles and eliminate the plastic shrouded water from your vacation!
The kitchenette was rather small to cook a large meal in, but big enough for two people. There was plenty of dishes, eating utensils, and cleaning rags to use. There was also some oil, spices, half and half, coffee, among other staples in the kitchen to use, most of these items were organic which is a bonus.
The owners, Garry and Ming, were really friendly and walked us around showing us the ranch and answering any questions we had about living on the ranch. They are also a great resource for Indian ruins, rock art, and trails in the area and have many pictures of their explorations.
The ranch is located close enough to Cortez, but also just far enough to be able to see almost every star in the sky. We will stay there again as a jumping-off point to our excursions and explorations in the Four Corners Area when we get some more time off. Thank you Garry and Ming for a nice, quiet place to escape!
