The ocean is RIGHT THERE! Only a beautifully landscaped common area with a built in pool separate you from swimming in the warm water or taking LONG beach walks.

The central location of this condo WAS the perfect base for excursions all over Maui. It is beautifully decorated and equipped with all the high end details - flat screen TVs, desktop with printer, full set of good cooking knives, beautiful dishes, self closing kitchen drawers, etc. It had all the accoutrements needed for the full range of activities from family beach adventures, movie nights, to romantic gourmet meals. Lovely building with beautiful courtyards and a nice mix of tourists and locals. We will definitely be booking this condo again.

This is definitely prime beach front property with an excellent location; close to beach; close to airport; close to shops; close to harbor; pool is perfect.
The photos are accurate, but it's much more stunning once you get there.
The property is clean and well-maintained. Easy to recommend to friends.
I most enjoyed the harbor tour with the non-profit Whale Foundation to Molikini.
Great whales, swim with turtles, a white finned shark, lots of fish and an octopus too.

The condo at Hono Kai had one of the most breathtaking views that I have seen. To set the scene – you pass a really well taken care of piece of property, up some unassuming stairs, and down a fairly typical outside hallway. When you first open the door, that is when it hits you . . . floor to ceiling views of the Pacific Ocean! Palm trees swaying in the wind! You pass the completely revamped kitchen, the authentic wood cathedral ceiling, eyes riveted on the blue waters outside. As you open the sliding door, you notice the beach is merely 20 steps away – a stone’s throw! – and directly below you a crystal blue pool beckons as well. Looking around the deck, you notice a brand new teak breakfast table, and nod knowing that you will eat all of your breakfasts enjoying this incredible view.

Once you have soaked up the breathtaking sight, you turn around and notice how nice, new, and, well, perfect the condo is. The living room has all the amenities of home, with a blue ray DVD player, 50 inch HD LCD screen, Netflix, etc. There are even board games available if you prefer more traditional entertainment. Looking into the kitchen, you notice that it is in fact much nicer than the one you have in your house. Brand new stainless steel appliances, a quartz countertop, and plenty of room for 2 to actually cook comfortably. If you wanted to cook – remember you are on vacation after all.

This is when curiosity gets a hold of you – what is upstairs? You walk up to the loft, and notice a large queen size bed, and small work area, complete with iMac and a printer! Remarkably, the loft enjoys the same wonderful view that greeted you when you entered the apartment. Imagine waking up to that view – you almost wish it was time for bed. Walking past the workstation, you find another full bathroom up here, with the same amenities that you noticed below. Amazing.

In addition to the wonderful setting, the apartment is out fit with everything. From beach towels, to snorkeling gear, to a boogie board – nothing has been left to chance. My wife didn’t even have to bring her hair dryer, as a diffuser was made available. Really, all you need to bring is a pair of swim suits.

I think that the most compelling thing that I can say, is that we will definitely be back. It was everything a vacation should be – relaxing, fun, and just plain enjoyable – and it is mainly due to the fantastic accommodations.

Our family recently spent nearly 2 weeks making this amazing condo our home away from home. The entire condo has been recently renovated: kitchen, bathrooms, floors, even the stairs looked new. My husband and I loved the modern decor used throughout - something we always hope to find when booking accommodations. The thing that struck us about this rental was how much thought was given to every detail and the high quality of the amenities provided. The beds were the most comfortable I've slept on other than at home, the selection of board games, books, and DVDs was outstanding, and the cookware, oh the cookware! I've never cooked using Green Pan before, but it was a joy (as were the grills downstairs). I also loved the nice selection of dishware for both adults and kids and really appreciated all the plastic containers as well since it made packing our lunches for outings so easy. Note: there is also a clothes drying rack stored under the bed which was invaluable to us for drying all our swim gear every day.

Stephanie was incredibly nice and helped to provide us with pack n plays/sheets, high chairs, and a baby gate for the unit; it couldn't have been easier.

The location was fabulous. Ocean front, with a pool...our kids wanted to go swim and play every day right after breakfast. This set-up was perfect for our family...any large resort we would have stayed at would have required a much longer walk down to the pool or beach...not an easy feat with young children in tow. Geographically, we found Maalaea to be fantastic. Nothing felt like it was too far away - we spent a few days exploring West Maui, a couple in South Maui and it was really easy to make Costco runs, which we ended up doing twice in the two weeks. The Swap Meet in Kahului was also a fun excursion with lots of great deals. The Maui Ocean Center is just down the street; our 5 year olds and 1 year olds loved it so much we bought a 1-week pass and visited twice.

One surprise bonus of the location (which I greatly miss besides the expansive view from the floor-to-ceiling windows) is the tradewinds. The condo is situated perfectly to enjoy the wonderful tropical breezes and I was surprised that we only needed the AC on for a couple of hours in the afternoons 3 or 4 times during the entire trip.

Lastly, I forgot to mention the closet full of beach toys, pool toys, beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, & snorkel sets. Everything we needed was there! Mahalo!!!

We had a marvelous 11 days here. Loved the view, décor, amenities and locations. We liked Makena Beach, Napali & Wailea too. The little beach at the park, (to the left) has rock free swimming just in front of the first group of trees. We went riding at Maui Stables, Kayaking off the hwy. to Lahaina (mile 14.5 )and ATVing out of Lahaina. All recommended. Lots of fun for everyone.

Fabulous!!! This is definitely heaven on earth. Thank you! Makena beach is terrific & if you continue to the end of the road there is a nature reserve that is all lava hills from the last lava flow in Maui 1790. Stephanie Stark has tons of ideas for excursions and is more than happy to answer any questions. She’s a gem.

Condo remodel is great! The view of the whales is very remarkable. This is a great condo for four people. The kitchen is well stocked. Thank you!
