Notting Hill Apartment Rental Photos and Description
3 bedrooms garden sleeps 5

Beautiful duplex on a lovely quiet street in London's fashionable Notting Hill!

Notting Hill is an area in West London, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The area is most well-known for Portobello Market (on Portobello Road, unsurprisingly), which runs every day except Sundays, and the Notting Hill Carnival, held every year on the last weekend in August.

Two of my favourite smaller London museums are both within walking distance of Notting Hill. Leighton House and Linley Sambourne House are excellent examples of everyday life in the 1890's in London. Any fan of the Victorian Aesthetics Movement in art/books/lifestyle should make one of these museums a must visit!!!

Of course, we couldn't talk about Notting Hill without mentioning the film and the BLUE DOOR Released in 1999 and starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, the film did much to promote and raise interest in the area.It was the reason so many shops relocated here and why other long standing ones had to close as the area became more expensive. It really has changed so much in the last 20 years. The area has so many shops and it's a foodie heaven with delis, coffee shops, tea rooms galore!

About the Flat: The flat offers our guests plenty of space. The fact that it's split level allows a spacious environment to relax in.The kitchen is fully stocked with all the bits and pieces you'll need to ensure that cooking here will be a delight! Please take the shopping trolley out and stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables for your stay. The market is the place to head for this. There are also some excellent deli's within a few minutes walk. The closest large supermarket is 5 minutes away.

After a day out shopping one can simply enjoy the garden and a glass of wine and unwind.

The flat also has a power shower within a roomy bathroom.

Notting Hill is a great place to visit, from its cafes and restaurants, its market and boutique shops, to its many pubs and bars. It holds much in the way of entertainment, whatever your interest - be it shopping, dining, film, drinking, clubbing or more!

Things to do: Notting Hill still has three excellent independent cinemas and I would suggest visiting at least one of them on your visit. The Electric Cinema is closet to the flat and is a must see for any film lover.

If you're a lover of music than a visit to the original Rough Trade shop on nearby Talbot Road is a must see! You'll find a vast array of recorded music and their walls of plastered with posters/handbills from the past 50 years of music in London. If Jazz is more up your street than a trip to Honest Jon's on Portobello Road.

Books Books Books...yes this area still has some independent shops left. I mentioned that the Travel Bookshop is up for sale..but still trading(This is due to close Sept/2011)(now closed Dec 11). There's the excellent Books For Cooks on Blenheim Cres. Yes, it's all about food here and they also have special cookery evenings and plenty of authors signing their latest cookbook.

One can really walk to several places of interest. I walked the entire way into the West End last week...passing several wonderful attractions. The walk did take about one hour and 10 minutes but on a lovely day it made us realise why we love London so much! You can walk via Hyde Park and pass the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial...and head up to Wellington Arch and straight down Piccadilly into Soho/Covent Garden. One needs to remember to wear comfortable shoes though!

If you're booking during the summer season than an open air concert should be on the list of things to do. The flat is very close to Holland Park where one can listen and see Opera in the Park. This park is a pure delight...not as big as the other Royal Parks but it has a lovely Japanese Garden...not to mention the Peacocks and other wildlife.

PLEASE NOTE-WE DO OUR BEST TO KEEP OUR CALENDAR UP TO DATE.WE ALSO HAVE OTHER FLATS THAT COULD BE AVAILABLE.PLEASE CONTACT US FOR MORE DETAILS.

Lovely 3 bedroom flat in wonderful Notting Hill

My 2 adult sisters and I couldn't have been more pleased with this Notting Hill flat. The downstairs was very comfortable. There was plenty of seating (a sofa and a sling back chair), and a nearby kitchen table/chairs. The kitchenette was cute and perfect for our simple meals and take-away. With one bedroom downstairs and two twin-bedrooms upstairs, along with a large, updated bath, it was a perfect set-up for us. The neighborhood was very, very quiet, and we enjoyed walking back and forth from the tube station (10-15 minutes away). It felt very safe. Portobello Market (best on Saturdays) was right down the street. Note to future renters: Getting out of Notting Hill Station requires carrying your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs. (I forgot about that from past trips.) The VR owners provided info on arranging a cab in advance, and we used that info to get back to the airport. Totally worth 57 quid. Their handy "where to find things in Notting Hill" was quite helpful. I would absolutely rent this flat again. It is convenient to everything, very affordable, and really comfortable, too. Plus, the owners were very easy to deal with from start to finish. Thanks!!!
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your comments. We're so pleased to hear yo enjoyed your time in Notting Hill.

Fabulous Flat in Notting Hill

Just stayed at this adorable property last week and we could not have been happier. It is just as cute as the pictures online and so well equipped, we needed nothing. The kitchen is compact but perfect for doing everything. We did not cook, but the gas stove was impressive. GREAT WiFi (which was a big deal for us because although we were "off" work, we had to check email frequently. Beds are very comfortable, shower is powerful and has plenty of hot water. I had a damn cold and was able to feel very cozy sleeping upstairs and I never touched the heat settings. They were perfect. My colleague prefers a bit cooler temp, so she stayed in the bedroom downstairs and was very happy. The location is incomparable. Steps to everything and so many super shops and restaurants. The Tube is maybe 10 minutes, Literally around the corner from Portobello Road and the market. Our greeter, Helen, was friendly and professional and patiently showed us every knob, switch, door, etc. I cannot imagine ever wanting to stay anyplace in London but this cute flat. I felt like Twiggy/Jean Shrimpton/Julie Christie living the swinging London scene in the 60's--BUT--with modern conveniences! I used 247 radio cab to get to Heathrow Sunday morning, by the way, and they were great -30 BP. Yeah, going to Paddington and taking the Express is way cheaper but I had a lot of luggage and I did not feel like ruining my "holiday" by going through that effort. Highest recommendation--from a very picky, American frequent traveler!

Not a three bedroom

This was advertised as a 3 bedroom, but the 3rd one has a twin blow up mattress. This may be fine for a child, but not for an adult. So please do not list it as 3 bedroom. Also this "3rd" bedroom has a street light directly outside which made it like daytime in the room. A room darkening curtain would really help. If you equipped this room with a real bed and darkening curtain, I would raise my rating of this place.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. The bed has now been replaced by a high quality single bed from John Lewis/with an excellent mattress.I agree that the airbed could be fine for a child but not ideal for an adult. We are also fitting a black out blind to the room.I'm pleased to hear that other than the above issues you enjoyed the flat.

Great Flat in a Great Location!

This flat was perfect for our family of four! Charlene made the rental process easy and Helen was there to meet us upon our arrival. This was a first trip to the U.K. and we could not have been more pleased that we chose this flat. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, but within walking distance to many restaurants, shops and Portobello Market. The Tube was also a short, convenient walk. The flat had all that we needed and was a relaxing retreat after very busy days. We scheduled an early morning taxi from Charlene's recommendation in the information book and were happy with their prompt service.

We would absolutely stay at this flat again!
Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words about the flat and our booking procedure. We're pleased you had a great time in London.

Nice and warm flat for a family of 4.

Nice and warm flat for a family of 4 like mine (2 adults, 2 kids). The department has all you could need for an enjoyable stay. And if something breaks during your stay, Matt will be there immediately there to fix it!

Also, it has a Saintsbury's shop really near and a Tesco one near the Notting Hill Gate tube station.

The only withdraw I could remark is that, although tube station is at a walking distance, it could feel a little further (and, hence, harder) for kids, specially in winter and when you come back after a long day visiting the city (and you probably walked a lot already in museums or so).

But, for the most, I do recommend this flat. We spent a great stay at London and this department had something (very much, I could say) to do with it.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. James and I are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Notting Hill. Please come and stay again.

great place!

The apartment in Notting Hill is very clean. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood, very pleasant, very easy to access. It is close to the bus, and a 15-mn walk to the underground. We stayed there with two children, and the flat was great. We stayed there in the winter, and the place was adequately warm. I would have only two comments. First, a minor thing: the addition of a teapot in a British flat is a must! ;) Second, the second bed in the bedroom is an inflatable bed. The ad says a convertible bed, which to me sounds like an armchair that can be converted into a bed. An inflatable bed is rather uncomfortable, and hard to sleep on. Given the price of the rental, I thought that an inflatable bed was not appropriate.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments about the flat. We're pleased you found it to be very clean. We really do try our best and know how important this is for our guests. I'm pleased to say that we have purchased a new teapot(there was a small tea for two post in the large cupboard)...but the larger one will be better for families.

A three-bedroom flat in Notting Hill

This is a cosy, three-bedroom flat on two levels a stone's throw from Portobello Markets. It provided four of us with a comfortable holiday in London over Christmas. The flat is close to many restaurants and cafes, as well as the Notting Hill Gate Tube station. It's even walkable from the West End.
There is a Tesco's in Portobello Road for comestibles too. We set up the flat with two single beds in the back upstairs bedroom and one in the front, as well as the double bedroom downstairs.

Owner's Response: Thank you. We're pleased you enjoyed your stay. Yes, once can walk to the West End...but you need alot of energy for it! Please come back and stay again on your next trip to London.

Nottinghill Retreat

Great location - very tidy and quiet - After 10 days of travel, it was lovely to have a "home" base and not be in a Hotel or Hostel. Just a short walk to Portabello Street. Where there are great resturants and quaint shops. The owners have done a lovely job of stocking the kitchen with all the right appliances to whip up a meal - but why should you when you could walk to resturants, bakeries and coffee shops. Felt like a true Londoner for 4 days. Would recommend this to family and friends for a great UK experience!

Great place in a good area. We were excited about the flexibility of the owners in terms of our arrival and departure time as we were 2 adults and 3 kids with luggage.

Everything went well and we had a great time.

Some things to note: Garden not kept up and could be a great place to hang out but not in current condition.

We appreciate the communication making our apprehensions in terms of booking over the internet go away.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments.James and myself try to help our guests with the check in time/check out times. We appreciate that travelling with children can make it somewhat stressful at times...so if we can offer a later check out/check in, we do.The garden area is lovely and I agree with you it needs some attention.I'm pleased to say it's been spruced up and should now be a relaxing place to sit and have a glass of wine on a warm summer night.
