Obviously the dilemma here is to say how wonderful this house is without making it difficult to book for future vacations because it will just continue to grow in popularity. But we have to be honest and say that this place is amazing. We rented both the house (three nights) and cottage (one of those nights). The owner has done an amazing job of creating a great vibe in the open main room with beautiful, eclectic design touches and a spacious kitchen – an ideal combination of comfort and a top notch aesthetic. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and are a great mix of comfort and design- which isn’t necessarily common in beach rentals that treat bedrooms as they're often the least important rooms of the house. And then there were thoughtful touches, like the bikes (bike helmet in the closet), the beach toys, kayaks, high-end kitchen equipment, to-do guides for the area, and Bob – the property manager who was friendly and always answered the phone when we called with random questions. And then there’s the beach. Gorgeous and right outside the door. Couldn't ask for much more...except a few more days to stay...

We had a great time at the cottage. It's perfect for a couple and has been nicely renovated. We appreciated how well the kitchen wasset up--lots of dishes, pots, pans etc. Enough to cook a multi-course meal. The location was wonderful--on a quiet lane just a few hundred feet from the bay. Not only were there 2 kayaks available for guests to use, but also two 1-speed bicycles. We've already recommended the cottage to some friends and would stay there again if we're ever in the area.

My boyfriend, myself and my dog loved spending a week at Summerlee Cottage! From the moment we drove up the driveway to the cottage, I knew that we would love it! The cottage is modern with a to "die for kitchen." It reminded me of a NY City apartment. The kitchen had everything you could possible want! The private beach was great to watch the day begin and have a fire at night, listening to the waves of the bay and you can fish from the beach and crab not too far away! Pointlook Out State Park was great for crabbing! Everyone was so nice and friendly! The Point Look Out Memorial Park also was one of many historical sites not to far from the cottage! We would definitely love to go again!

Point Lookout is a dream destination for those who are looking for peace, quiet and a beautiful beach. The Summerlee Cottage is gorgeous - the amenities are wonderful and the decorating is superb. It's like a little piece of european flare in the middle of a rural beach town! It's an extremely close drive from DC and the perfect getaway from the city and from everyday life. Highly recommend!

Not only was this cottage priced right for our budget, it was also beautifully decorated, and clean and comfortable and everything worked- hot water, Wifi and cable TV! My husband and I and our dog spent our days exploring the beach, which was just steps away! During a hike, the local bald eagles swooped down right over us which was amazing! Kayaking on the sparkling bay was a blast and going through the nearby creek was tranquil and filled with beauty. After an active day, relaxing on the patio just listening to the birds and the breeze added another dimension to the enchantment of this place! In the evening, after creating a meal in that amazing kitchen, we made a fire in the wood burning stove and simply fell in love with the Summerlee Cottage! Can't wait to go back!
It is a beach town, so make sure you bring some bottled water and your bug repellent!

Wonderful little beach cottage very clean and private. The kitchen felt like we were in Tuscany. Enjoyed all the ammentites being so close. Point Look Out was right around the corner. We enjoyed it so much but I think our dog had the best time. So much History.If interested there is a Lama farm 5 miles away that is so much fun especially if you have a dog an experience you dont want to miss.Great sunsets at some of the wonderful restaurants if looking to get away and forget about the world for awhile this is the place.

We just got back from an amazing weekend at this cottage! Saw two bald eagles in a nest right on our own private beach! Our dog loved playing Frisbee on the beach and hiking with us every day. The area around the cottage was perfect for hiking. Thank you, Christine, for going way above and beyond your call of duty and getting the cable to work on the TV! The cottage was the perfect size for us! Our only issue was the water smelled like rotten eggs. Luckily, we had bottled water to drink. The cottage was very clean and well equipped and we loved how private it was! Wish we would have had more time to try out the kayaks!

Beautiful space with interesting architectural details, modern design, and lots of light. Comfortable enough to stay indoors all day because of weather if necessary.
Quiet and serene, steps to the beach.
Easy to reserve and check-in. We look forward to returning.
