5 of us stayed at Spring Branch House in Solitude, Utah for a week and had the perfect winter holiday. The famed Utah powder appeared and after a lesson on handling it from the awesome Eric at the ski school we made the most of it. We were aided in getting maximum time on the slopes by there being literally no lift lines ! The house is close enough to the lift base to go home for lunch and we did that many days to take full advantage of the gourmet kitchen and fire place (wood supplied) in the spacious and comfy great room. After a full day on the slopes a soak in the hot tub eased tired muscles and the underfloor heating kept everything toasty. The house is perfectly set up with ski rack in the garage, boot room inside the door from the garage and laundry right next to that. Bedrooms are roomy and comfortable and furnishings throughout the house are gorgeous. With two televisions showing Direct TV, house DVD library and board games there is no shortage of entertainment. The Solitude Lodging Service will promptly take care of anything you need from more firelighters to sweeping the snow off the satelitte dish.
Solitude resort is attractive with European style architecture and very good eating and drinking options including the not to be missed dinner at the Yurt experience. There is also spa services at the Inn with excellent and freindly therapists. Also check out the nordic sports area for snowshoeing and cross country skiing... you may be lucky enough to see the resident Moose family !
45 minutes form the airport and 15-20 mins to grocery stores and a big REI, Solitude and Spring Branch House could not be more convenient. We can't wait to go back next year.
