Casa Oasis is your personal oasis within a 10 - 15 minute walk to Centro in the desirable Guadiana neighborhood. Located across the street from a very quiet park, the lot, one of the largest around centro San Miguel de Allende, features a beautiful and private garden and patio complete with old growth bamboo, an avocado tree, orange tree, pomegranite tree and many flowers surrounding a fountain where colorful birds play. It's a great place for enjoying a meal, an afternoon margarita or a siesta! The Spanish Colonial, one-level main house, a real rarity within city limits, features a large Kitchen and Dining for 8-10 with a comfortable Living area, including a game table.

Why Bob D chose San Miguel de Allende
After over 40 years in the residential building business in the Seattle Washington area, I am now retired. My wife and I have always loved going to Mexico, but until visiting our son in San Miguel, it had always been to the ocean.
Our son found San Miguel to visit and work on his web business. When we visited him, we immediately knew this was what we had been looking for in a winter retreat from Seattle. We are one of those crazy people that bought on their first trip, but only because we found the type house we couldn't find in the states. We really like the older colonial architecture that is very relaxed and comfortable. After looking at a number of homes, we knew we were going to buy after walking in and seeing the great yard and other exterior spaces.

A Perfect Getaway

This property is truly an oasis. Close enough to walk the tranquil cobblestone streets, taking in the colorful architecture, to Centro. Walking distance to great shops, produce markets, pollorias, etc. Also an easy taxi ride into centro, close to the main drag, but with the private backyard, feels very secluded. The house is cozy, yet stays cool even during the heat of the day. Backyard has lots of shade, making it a nice place to relax throughout the day. House is roomy, but well laid-out so as not to feel isolated from each other. The owners thought of every amenity for the house. Full kitchen with ample counter space for cooking. Beautiful, large family style table for home cooked meals. Very comfortable beds - which is hard to find in rentals! Nice that each bedroom has a bathroom. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This home met or exceeded all of our expectations. The grounds where in fact a tranquil oasis. There were two couples in our party and the house and grounds provided plenty of space both for together and alone time. We would recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit San Miguel. The location was both close enough and far enough away from the central square. We walked everywhere and while using an occasional taxi, we found no need for a rental car.

Met owners who obliged my request to see house after rented elsewhere since looking for future visits. Enjoyed meeting them while liking them also.
I would rent this house as it seemed to be architecturally well-thought out in an ideal location. Outstanding property on level land and house all on one-level (except roof-top terrace and casita), double-sized lot, well treed yet sunny, across street from lovely park with fountain. Interior design exceptional, well-stocked with quality furnishings and high-end kitchen open plan with granite counters and modern equipment.
Large covered patio the length of the house with several seating areas. Ideal for two or three couples or family with children. Photos are true representation of property and house.

Just as it looks!

Sometimes listings can be deceiving however that was not the case with this property. The description was very accurate so there were no surprises with the house from the first time I saw it. It is clean and well maintained. The housekeeper comes every two days which was perfect for us. Everything you would ever need is available in the house such as iron, ironing board, large screen tv, video player etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. The location is perfect. About a 10 minute walk to the main square. There are a variety of restaurant choices within a two block radius. The house is located in a good neighborhood as well. No barking dogs! The owner was quick to answer emails and the property Manager in San Miguel is very good. You can't go wrong with this house. Three couples could actually live in the house comfortably. The house is nicely laid out. Every bedroom has its own bathroom as well. One of the best rentals in San Miguel.

Amazing Family Home!

We stayed in this beautiful home for a month over christmas and new years. There was enough space for all of us to spread out amongst the home and beautiful garden, meander through the cobblestone streets of San Miguel and then meet back up again over a big family dinner at the grand dining table in the evening.
Mornings were spent drinking our tea and coffee in the warm morning sunlight on the roof deck. We loved picking up lunch from a polloria or fresh empanadas and enjoying them on the back patio with a perfect view of the oasis garden and trickling fountain.
The flatscreen TV in the living room was set up perfectly for movie night. English channels, movie package and super comfortable couches made this the perfect place for the nights we didn't feel like going out to any of the numerous restaurants and bars around San Miguel.
In short, this was the perfect home rental for our holiday in San Miguel. We truly felt like we were living as locals - albeit, fortunate ones:)

We had a lovely time at Casa Oasis. The house gave us room to wander, discover, and play all within the confines of beauty and quaintness. We had both room to play with friends and disappear to comfortable solitude.

Excellent location for my 2 weeks in San Miguel

I loved this home as soon as I walked through the front door and saw the large courtyard garden through the paned living room windows. So much private outdoor space! I see why they call it an Oasis. I was there during the rainy season and it was great to be able to sit in the covered outdoor patio (off of the living and dining room) to watch the lightning flash and hear the thunder crack overhead. The spacious living room feels cozy with its gas fireplace and comfortable sofa. The location is ideal, just outside of the Centro, it is a short walk to El Jardin, La Parroquia and lots of great shops, restaurants and galleries. As a photographer this city is a dream to visit! Color is everywhere! I was able to walk to 14 different churches/convents all within the Centro and surrounding neighborhoods. Be sure to pick up the San Miguel Walking and Shopping Guide, which is free at most shops. This outlines 10 easy walks with maps for the city with shopping and restaurant recommendations. My favorites are: on Mesones, in Centro, El Petit Four #99-1 (excellent bakery with delicious pasteries) and Tio Lucas #103 (excellent food with Jazz music nightly). On Canal, in Centro, Casa Maxwell # 14 (room after room of artisan crafts for the home). And the best place for a cocktail with a view is the rooftop bar, Luna, at the Rosewood hotel, which is a short walk from this rental property. The Rosewood also has a beautiful restaurant on the main level called, 1826 Restaurant & Bar. But my favorite treat was found at the end of the street at Potranca and Ancha de San Antonio--a small ice cream shop that offers delicious flavors like Rose petal! Across the street is Oxxo, a 7-11 type convenience store and down further on San Antonio is a 24 hour pharmacy, Farmacia Guadalajara at #13 Ancha de San Antonio. I cannot wait to return to this lovely home for another amazing vacation!
