What a lovely place! I spent my birthday weekend there with friends and family, and this was the best place we could have chosen. The house is bright, clean, spacious, and well maintained and equipped with all the amenities one wants. It just has a warm and welcoming feel to it. We were a group of 10 people and the house was perfect for that kind of group: we could easily be all together in the living room or on the terrace, and it was also possible to spread out if we wanted to. The terrace overlooks a magnificent, well maintained lawn and trees. Being foodies we were happy to find a fully equipped kitchen. We found state-of-the-art TV and VCR so we were able to watch movies. What's really great too is that the house is so close to Hay Beach--an easy 10-15 minute walk. It is also a short bike or car drive away from the supermarket and the North Ferry. The owner was very friendly and diligently answered all our questions ahead of our stay, and since we arrived by train and ferry, he even picked some of us up at the Ferry and made sure that we had everything we needed. I can highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Shelter Island with a group of friends or family.
