House Needs Some Updating

The location of the house couldn't be beat....within walking distance of the Safety Harbor Spa and the center of town. We really enjoyed watching the gators and birds in the creek behind the house.The owners were very accommodating, provided little extras and took care of any problems immediately. (We had a problem with the showerhead and it was replaced the next day.) The house could have used more storage space....only one small dresser for two bedrooms....and the screens need replacing. (We found we used the ac more than we would have liked as we were uncomfortable opening the windows....too many gaps in the screens where little critters could get in.)

Sorry to hear about your experience with one or more window screens and the need for an additional dresser. Our home was renovated in 2010 and the screens were replaced at that time; and had we known you found a window or screen that needed attention during your stay, we would have taken action to fix any issues found immediately. We also have additional furniture/dressers available upon request. Keep in mind, we try to furnish the home based on the number of occupants who will be staying in the house.
As you and others have noticed, we make every effort to provide our guests with fully equipped accommodations to satisfy their needs for a short term vacation rental.
We're happy to hear you were able to see and enjoy the Florida wildlife (large and small), which we have strived to protect in partnership with the City of Safety Harbor and the State of Florida. Our home sets on 3 private acres downtown Safety Harbor; and with the new "Mullet Creek Nature Park" located directly in front of the home, and Mullet Creek running through our property, and the pond in our backyard, we hope it provides our guests with a unique Florida experience throughout their stay.

My husband & I stayed for 9 nights in the home in Safety Harbor. The walk to downtown was great-only 2 blocks. The walk to the marina was only 3 blocks. Home was nicely updated and kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The location was great for getting to Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater and other small towns. The park across the street was a plus. The room at the back of the house was great for watching the birds. There are no homes close so you have great privacy. We could walk to see Tampa Bay easily. The only small disappointment was that the street was very busy until about midnight and started again about 6 am so if you are a light sleeper the front bedroom is noisy.

For all the reasons you’ve stated, we often attract guests who enjoy Safety Harbor’s vibrant village atmosphere, beautiful weather, parks and recreation, walkability, and seasonal festivals and events.
While we have very little control over the traffic (walking, running, bicycling, and cars), we do recognize it; and we are constantly searching for new ways to prevent it from impacting the privacy, birds and nature found on our little three acre downtown retreat. With that in mind; in spring, we will be planting several new Florida native species of shrubs and trees designed to increase the natural beauty and privacy that exists today.
While we have very little control over the traffic (walking, running, bicycling, and cars), we do recognize it; and we are constantly searching for new ways to prevent it from impacting the privacy, birds and nature found on our little three acre downtown retreat. With that in mind; in spring, we will be planting several new Florida native species of shrubs and trees designed to increase the natural beauty and privacy that exists today.

Great to be so close to downtown - we loved walking there every day. The owners were so nice; they provided extra amenities normally not found so we did not have to go shopping right away - very thoughtful! The fact that they are pet-friendly was just wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay!

The property was just as it was advertised - clean, convenient, homey, and well-maintained. We had a couple of questions when we first arrived and the owners were very available and most willing to answer those questions.
What we could not tell from the advertisement of the property was how very convenient it was to a state park with little patches of sandy beach (10 feet wide maybe but a place to put a chair by the water), a beautiful dog park, perfect bike riding terrain for two 65+ people, and a wide variety of all kinds of restaurants with really good food.
The 10-visit membership0 at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa was a great deal. For a flat fee $150 we were entitled to 10 visits to use the pools, exercise facilities, exercise classes, and locker rooms. When the weater was good, we just rode our bikes to the resort and spent the better part of a day there. Also, on Wednesday nights the resort restaurant offers a surf and turf dinner for $13 to $15 per person depending on what seafood you want. You definitley need reservations though!
It was a wonderful 3 weeks for us and we look forward to returning next year.

Comfy home away from home

We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable home in Safety Harbor, FL. It was near everything we wanted to visit. Our hosts were wonderful - easy to reach, met our needs (thank you for lending the laptop!), respected our privacy. Great restaurants in Safety Harbor, friendly folks. Enjoy breakfast at Paradise, lunch at Captain's Pizza, and dinner at Safety Harbor Grill - great fish and steak! We once lived there so we caught up with neighbors, friends. Visit the library and the gorgeous tree next to it - we love that tree! Visit Tarpon Springs and enjoy a wonderful meal at Hella's Restaurant & Bakery. Thanks to the guest book I found out Chihuly is in St. Pete. Beautiful glass art! Would definitely consider renting this home again, should we re-visit the area. Many thanks to Valerie, John, Rachel, and Lauren! We love the natural setting and know the future plans will enhance this property further.
