Rustic Cabin on Twin Island Lake, Pine Plains, NY
Featured in Fresh Cottage Magazine, summer 2011, “dream retreats”.
It is an owner shared cabin with rustic 50’s vintage theme. Sitting on a quiet lake road, the cabin offers a full kitchen and bath with large claw footed tub, out door shower, two bedrooms, front sitting room/ kitchen with wood burning
stove and great view of the lake. The property includes lakefront with dock and canoe. No land line, or TV.
Not winterized, the cabin is closed down in October and opened again by June. Book ahead.
I am an artist (muralist and decorative painting) living in NYC.
I acquired this cabin from it's original owner who grew up around these lakes in the summer. I was thrilled that it had never been 'upgraded'. I refurbished it while trying to keep true to a vintage 50's lake cabin and still enjoy combing the local yard sales for items that belong to this venue.
Lovely view of lake from front room and also thru the interior window while laying in bed. The sunrise over the lake can be glorious.
In the spring and early summer, the frogs croaking and in the fall geese honking serenade the otherwise quiet setting.
