We have been renting camps for a week's vacation throughout Maine for over 25 . We are now a 3 generation group (ages 3 -63) (with a couple of single relatives joining in) coming form three states to have a week of relaxing, talking, playing, laughing, unwinding, and just enjoying each other.
Since the use of the internet for searching for camps, I have been able to have a pretty good idea of the property I am renting. but this year I was surprised and kept thinking "Wow" as I entered the house. It was clean, neat, spacious with neutral tones and tastefully decorated with a camp atmosphere. It just welcomes you to come in, be comfortable, and relax. What we liked most about the rental was the feel and flow of the house and how it was very family friendly. It was not only large in space, but had lots of little areas (both inside and out) to gather or just to be able to be off by yourself.
The main room is open with the sitting area, a huge dining table, and a smaller kitchen area. There is a large entry way/hall with a couple of benches and smaller side tables.A great place to store coolers, paper goods, and non perishable food. It was next to the kitchen so things were easily accessable).
The deck is so much larger than depicted in the picture. It had both a picnic table and a patio table with chairs and still lots of room to move around. The screened in porch was large too, with the sleeping fouton on one end and three rocking chairs on the other.
One surpirse was the other bedrooms were in a finished, walkout basement which provided extra pvivacy as well as the fact that the four sleeping areas were all seperated from each other.Having two large, full baths was very helpful and having them separated from bedrooms by the stairs also added privavcy.
The campfire area is one of the best we have had. It was located in a nicely groomed wooded area with a large fire pit, a picnic table, and a wood bench. A great area to enjoy a book during the day.
Saturday pond was large enough to have a waterfront feel, but small enough for no large boats or jet skis so you were comfortable to be out in a canoe or the boat or just relax swimming off the dock. It aso had enough fish to keep everyone happy.
We found the owners to be very prompt and helpful with our inquirey and questions.
Overall a very relaxing place to be and large enough with individual spaces to be restful rain or shine!
