House, 3 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Year-round, comfortable newer home for weekly rental. On beautiful, serene Saturday Pond. A great place to "unplug", connect with family, enjoy nature, explore antique shops, stargaze, listen to the loons and relax. Features include a dock with shallow, sandy entry, canoe, rowboat, two kayaks, hammock, firepit, screen porch, washer/dryer, large deck, skylights, and beds for 8.

Summer Relaxation and Cool Down - This location on the pond is great for days full of... casual swimming, barbeques on the deck, canoeing or rowing, a game of catch in the yard, a walk down the road to the marsh for birdwatching, a trip to Casco for ice cream and an evening fire in the firepit. The 'great room' connected to the deck with stairs leading to the path to the water makes it all feel like one big indoor/outdoor room. For a change of pace, take an easy day trip to Portland, Freeport or North Conway, NH, all a 50 min. drive.

Winter Recreation and Fun - 30 minutes from Shawnee Peak and 50 minutes from Sunday River. The pond freezes every winter for great skating and there are some fun cross-country ski/snowshoe trails on nearby snowmobile tracks and along the pipeline.

The house on Saturday Pond provided us with an idyllic location and a spacious, family-friendly home in which to vacation. The area is quiet and peaceful - a true escape from the hectic pace of everyday life. We had three generations in the house at one point, and this beautiful spot pleased everyone. I would highly recommend a stay here for quality family time. Nothing like smores over the the fire pit to bring people together! And the haunting call of the loons early in the morning is a wonderful way to start the day.

Great camp for summer vacations with private dock and great lake

I needed a spacious and airy house for my family reunion. We had multiple families with varying ages and everyone found it comfy and easy to relax in. Having the dock and a beautiful lake was like having our own private playground for the kids and the adults.....peaceful, casual, memorable.

Vacation rental with a "Wow" factor

Vacation rental with a "Wow" factor

We have been renting camps for a week's vacation throughout Maine for over 25 . We are now a 3 generation group (ages 3 -63) (with a couple of single relatives joining in) coming form three states to have a week of relaxing, talking, playing, laughing, unwinding, and just enjoying each other.
Since the use of the internet for searching for camps, I have been able to have a pretty good idea of the property I am renting. but this year I was surprised and kept thinking "Wow" as I entered the house. It was clean, neat, spacious with neutral tones and tastefully decorated with a camp atmosphere. It just welcomes you to come in, be comfortable, and relax. What we liked most about the rental was the feel and flow of the house and how it was very family friendly. It was not only large in space, but had lots of little areas (both inside and out) to gather or just to be able to be off by yourself.
The main room is open with the sitting area, a huge dining table, and a smaller kitchen area. There is a large entry way/hall with a couple of benches and smaller side tables.A great place to store coolers, paper goods, and non perishable food. It was next to the kitchen so things were easily accessable).
The deck is so much larger than depicted in the picture. It had both a picnic table and a patio table with chairs and still lots of room to move around. The screened in porch was large too, with the sleeping fouton on one end and three rocking chairs on the other.
One surpirse was the other bedrooms were in a finished, walkout basement which provided extra pvivacy as well as the fact that the four sleeping areas were all seperated from each other.Having two large, full baths was very helpful and having them separated from bedrooms by the stairs also added privavcy.
The campfire area is one of the best we have had. It was located in a nicely groomed wooded area with a large fire pit, a picnic table, and a wood bench. A great area to enjoy a book during the day.
Saturday pond was large enough to have a waterfront feel, but small enough for no large boats or jet skis so you were comfortable to be out in a canoe or the boat or just relax swimming off the dock. It aso had enough fish to keep everyone happy.
We found the owners to be very prompt and helpful with our inquirey and questions.
Overall a very relaxing place to be and large enough with individual spaces to be restful rain or shine!

A hit with all ages!

Three generations are extolling the pleasure we shared this week: swimming, canoeing, loon-watching. We saw gorgeous sunrises, sunsets, and got in some star-gazing. We were definitely unplugged and loving it, even the teenagers! This house had plenty of space with a bedroom up and two down, a deck, screened porch, a hammock, seating by the fire pit and right on the dock. Everyone found a spot to call their own. The community floating dock is very near and was a favorite destination. We explored Bridgton on the way to North Conway, Norway (for a great book store and some free wi-fi) and fished the Crooked River as well as Saturday Pond itself.

Traditional Maine "Camp" Perfect for Kids, Dogs and Adults who Want to Unplug

The lake doesn't allow large boats, the camp is decorated tastefully but not overdone, and the furnishings are forgiving to dog hair and the occasional wet bathing suit or towel. We were two families with 3 adults, four kids and dog and we wanted a quiet, safe place to unwind. The camp provides ample, sunny space both inside and out, the dock is great for younger kids to swim with no severe drop-off, and the association wharf provides excellent deeper water swimming. The loons will sing you to sleep and you and the kids can catch frogs, turtles and bass off the dock, the first two without a license. Otisfield and surrounding towns are quintessentially Maine with $4.50 movies in Oxford and "honor-system" vegetable stands about every 5 miles. Try the breakfast sandwich and buy your worms at the Casco AG.

A wonderful and relaxing vacation.

We spent the week of July 17th to July 24th on Saturday Pond. We had a wonderful week. One of the most relaxing vacations in a long time. The place was very comfortable and homey. Plenty of room for a large family. The first floor was open and spacious with overlooking the pond with a very large deck off the living room. A first floor bedroom and full bath. Plenty of games, puzzles and books. No reception on the T.V. but we didn't even miss it. Spent more time together as a family without the distractions of T.V., telephones and computers. The fishing was great caught several large ones. It is so peaceful and relaxing here. At night it seems there are a millions stars in the sky. If you are looking to get away from the fast pace world this is the place.

A pleasant week on Saturday Pond

Overall, we enjoyed the place. It is spacious, neat and well-furnished. We took several turns around the pond in the canoe and I enjoyed snorkeling off the waterfront dock. A few minutes spent raking fallen leaves off the bottom at the side of the dock provided a nice wading spot for the rest of the family. The main floor was always pleasant as was the deck overlooking the back yard and pond.

The downstairs bedrooms tend to get a bit humid, but the owners provided a hefty dehumidifier to keep the air comfortable.

The TV no longer gets the two local channels due to the recent conversion to digital broadcasting. An inexpensive DTV converter and simple antenna would fix that problem. Nonetheless, we enjoyed watching DVDs and tapes that we brought as well as several good ones provided by the owners. Mostly, though we didn't miss the live TV and enjoyed the peacefulness of the pond.

Owner's Response: The DTV converter has been purchased, though we personally like to escape from our permanently "on" world to the serenity and simplicity of Maine at its best.
