Luxurious 8bdrm Semi-OF on 2nd Best Secluded Beach in USA
NEW: Check out our video for a short review of the house and the Carova Beach are to get a good idea of what your next vacation could be like.
Come to ''A Salty Piece of Land'' and take in the natural beauty and wild horses of Carova on your next family vacation! Enjoy this home's many amenities and vast ocean views. Beach access is right outside the front door and miles of undisturbed trails are just a short walk away in nearby False Cape State Park.
Relax by the private pool, unwind in the hot tub, and enjoy a beverage at the Tiki Bar. Escape from the sun with a game of billiards or retreat to the theatre room with stadium seating for 16. Approximately 10.6 miles up the beach. Accessible by 4x4 only but well worth the drive.
This house is managed by a trio of local companies including the premiere rental company on the Outer Banks that has an online booking capability and accepts credit cards. There are no hidden fees for linens, cleaning, pets, etc.
Carova is at the north end of the 11 mile 4x4 beaches. This section of the Outer Banks is undeveloped...there are no paved roads, no strip malls, no tourist traps of any kind. Of course, the quaint town of Corolla, 10 miles south, has everything a guest could want. But in Carova Beach, it is just wild horses, 4 wheel drive vehichles, and beach houses among the natural undisturbed dunes.
This house is located just south of the VA/NC border. Directly north of the VA/NC fence is False Cape State Park where vehical traffic is restricted to permitted vehicles only. This location offers the least amount of vehicles on the beach of any other section of the 4x4 beaches. And with the State Park just next door, you and your family will have miles and miles of beaches practically all to yourselves!
The beach views from the decks are quite amazing. There is no house built on the oceanfront lot across the ''street'' so you have an unobstructed view of the ocean and will be able to spot dolphins from inside the house. But the wild horses are the real attraction here in Carova and are our most famous residents, having descended from Spanish Mustangs stranded here from shipwrecks long ago.
Even though online maps may show many ''roads'' on this section of the beach that imply a dense subdivision, nothing could be farther from the truth. Most of the area to the west is totally undeveloped, and there are just a handful of houses that will interrrupt your sweeping views of the Atlantic ocean.
The Carova area is consistent ranked as one of the Top 10 Secluded U.S. beaches and has been described by USA Weekend as ''one of the 10 best undiscovered beaches on the East Coast.'' Discover it for yourself at ''A Salty Piece of Land''!!

We are a family of four with two dogs. Our two Golden Retrievers love being on the beach, where they can 'cut loose' and run and play in the surf. We enjoy the 4x4 area year round and particularly like the peaceful serenity only available in the off-season.
Our family has been vacationing on the Outer Banks since the 1970's. We've stayed on the southern beaches like Nags Head and KDH, and we've stayed on the paved sections of the north beaches like Duck and Corolla.
The Outer Banks are great year-round. In the off-season, it's very peaceful and relaxing. But up in Carova, there are times in the off-season when we may be the only people on the beach for miles and miles in both directions. Even during peak summer season, it is never crowded like a resort like Virginia Beach or Ocean City. I can always visit resorts and stay at hotels, and expect a 'themepark-like' experience. But in Carova...there's nothing else like it ...anywhere. To say that the atmosphere here is 'laid back' is an understatement. It's historic, it's natural, it's peaceful, it's beautiful, it's the beach...all at once.
Short walk to the beach, 30 minute drive to civilization! Reconnect with your family and nature while pampering yourself in a home that has everything. The view is one of the best found at a semi-oceanfront house anywhere. Beach access is right outside the front door, no walking a block or two north or south before crossing the dunes. False Cape State Park is practically deserted. There are miles and miles of beach just sitting on the other side of the fence where there are rarely any cars driving. And there are fewer vehicles on this section of the 4x4 beaches too. House rents Sunday to Sunday to help guest avoid Saturday turnover traffic in the Outer Banks.
