A unique property, Caribbean Castaway, located on the east end of St. Thomas where there is less rain, boasts a lush sprawling lawn on a large piece of property with direct water frontage. All bedrooms are ocean front with direct Caribbean views, en suite bathroom and their own balcony overlooking the infinity edge pool. Swaying palms and multi-colored flowers are a treat for all, including the resident iguanas, on the professionally landscaped grounds. Thatch Cay, The British Virgin Islands and St. John are all within view. A quaint stone cottage for two, just 20 feet from the water's edge, is also available. Whether your plans include playing on the lawn, relaxing by the pool, swimming or snorkeling in the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean -it is all right here in your backyard!

This location could not be any better. Lindquist Beach (the new Magens Bay) which offers life guard supervision, is a five minute walk from the house.

The town of Red Hook is just a five minute drive, where you will find many restaurants, live entertainment, groceries, shopping, boat rentals, marinas, dive expeditions etc. There you can also catch the ferry every hour to St. John and the British Virgin Islands.

Caribbean Castaway is a brand new six bedroom, fully air-conditioned, solar powered ''green'' villa. The house captures the vision of the perfect island home. High vaulted natural Cypress ceilings, large glass windows and doors, and comfortable interior furnishings create an island atmosphere. Art work by Guy Harvey, Elaine Estern and Jonna White are featured throughout the villa. The Mahogany custom front door was also hand carved by a local artist. The gourmet kitchen features Bosch appliances, granite counters, two refrigerators, stand alone ice maker and is fully equipped to cook a gourmet meal for 12 or simply reheat leftovers.

For your entertainment, satellite TV and a separate media room with a 55'' flat screen television and surround sound, complement the main living area. High speed totally secure Wi-Fi can be accessed from anywhere on the property. Additionally, there are hard wire Lan connections in the Bedrooms and Office for even more security. The main house features five bedrooms, four with king size beds and one with two twins. The cottage is equipped with a king size bed. The bedrooms and cottage all feature luxury linens, plush bath towels and flat screen TV's.

In St. Thomas the outside living space is just as important as the inside. Caribbean Castaway is equipped with a large gas grille, outdoor stone pool bar, pool bathroom, expansive covered porch/terrace and a pool deck featuring crushed coral tile imported from the Dominican Republic. The infinity edge pool features a glass mural of a coral reef and turtles swimming on the bottom.

A fountain rising up from the middle of the pool lends an additional touch to alfresco dining. For additional enjoyment there is ample room for you and your guests to enjoy the open lawn.

Joanne and I have traveled around the world and have always compared St Thomas to wherever we have been. We always said St Thomas was the most beautiful place in the world and in 2006 purchased a home there. We then took four years to create this home with this thought in mind, what do we think a caribbean house should be ?? The quality of products and craftsmanship of the house far exceeds any on the island. The landscaping was designed to enlighten the senses thru tropical plants with colorful flowers. The atmosphere is what we would expect a house and property in the caribbean to be. We hope you share in our creation. This house is a reflection of us. So by getting to know the house you get to know us.

Sometimes in the winter you just want to get warm. Florida is very nice but can get cold. St Thomas offers a no risk warm vacation and is easily accessible from major airports. The water colors in St Thomas are stunning! There is nothing like it in the world. In addition to this St Thomas is under the American flag and offers all of the protection we are accustomed to. The east end of the island is a much more relaxed atmosphere than Charlotte Amalie while still offering restaurants, shopping, easy access to St John and the BVI 's via the passenger or car ferry. We are situated between Linquist Beach and Sapphire Beach, ( both just a five minute walk from the house), two of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

What makes this villa unique

Caribbean Castaway is one of the finest rental villas in St Thomas. It's a short walk to Sapphire Beach and Lindquist Beach. Best of all you can walk into the water straight from our property and the snorkeling is incredible! Our house has it all. A great place to just relax at the pool, swim/snorkel, soak up the sun or escape to your own balcony for some quiet R&R. All of the rooms are separate from the main house so you have the ability to escape the crowd if you like. Stone/brick/shell materials used as they were 200 years ago , the vaulted cypress ceiling, the stone shower, the kitchenette area all make the separate cottage very special. Did I mention that the cottage is 20 feet from the water's edge ??? The cottage is included in our rate for a six bedroom rental only. Cottage may be substituted as one of the bedrooms ( Five bedroom minimum) for a additional fee of $500. In the VI islands we lose electricity often. This house is equipped with a 60 KW generator which automatically starts when the electricity goes out. Not all rentals have this equipment.

Words can not accurately describe this beautiful property and the wonderful time we had there. The pictures are accurate, the owners are spectacular to work with and the managers of the property were very helpful. This was my first time booking a rental property, I have been a resort/hotel and cruise person which does not compare to the comfort, quality amenities and quality family time spent that we had booking this trip. The location was great to get to other places with ease. We did 2 trips to St. John, went to the nearby beach and spent many hours in the pool and snorkeling right at the property. The sunrises with coffee in hand and the sunsets with a beverage of choice started and ended our day with a lot of memories in between. I will not hesitate to book this property again.

Our family went to St Thomas for our youngest daughter's wedding at the Sand Dollar Estate. My husband, 3 daughters and their husbands, one son and 2 grandkids, as well as myself loved every thing about this property. We were at the Sand Dollar for the Wedding and to get together with my husband's sisters who rented the Estate, and were very glad we had rented the Caribbean Castaway instead of the Sand Dollar. Even the sisters who rented the Sand Dollar loved our rental. We did have a couple days of lack of hot water due to rainy days and blown breakers, but that was remedied for us by Dave. This was definitely a great choice and if we ever get back to St Thomas I would love to stay here again!

This villa is so wonderful. It has everything anyone would ever need. We are looking forward
to spending our next Christmas vacation there again. The people we worked with were very
helpful and friendly. The whole family had a great time. It is close to everything you could ever
need . The rooms in the villa were emaculate, as were the grounds. Perfect vacation spot.
It was a great experience from the minute we got there until the day we left.

One word for Caribbean Castaway, "Spectacular"! We have been very fortunate to travel the world and stay in many beautiful places. We love this home and the "BEST" location on the island. There is nothing I would change and agree with another review, that all the rooms in the house are exceptional. All the bedrooms are large, beautiful colors and your own bathroom. The cottage is amazing with a beautiful custom made stone shower! Every room has very high end details and a large gourmet kitchen. If you have friends that don't want too much sun, they can enjoy the patio while watching and participating with those hanging by the infinity pool! This is the house you book year after year, because it feels like your private home, not a rental property. ENJOY!

I cannot express enough how beautiful this home is and comfortable for 6 couples to stay at.
It had everything that you need to feel right at home.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy our vacation.
Dave and Dawn were fantastic care-takers for this place too....

Beautiful, Surreal, Relaxing, Peaceful, Convenient, Amazing and so much Fun!! Couldn't ask for a better honeymoon getaway. Caribbean Castaway is perfect for families, friends and couples. Young or old, there is something to enjoy for everyone. Everything about this property is over the top out of this world. You can stay in and enjoy the amazing infinity pool and beautiful views and snorkle right out back. Or you can ride less than 5 minutes down the road to Red Hook and enjoy awesome food, great drinks, and good people. My husband and I really enjoyed hopping on the ferry and spending the day at St. John. I would strongly suggest Caribbean Castaway to anyone who needs a break from the every day stresses. It's the perfect place to clear your mind, kick back and relax. My husband and I would like to thank the property owners so much for allowing us to have this opportunity. To be able to share such a beautiful home together for 7 days of heaven was more than we both could ever had imagined. If you are reading these reviews because you are interested in this vacation rental please take note that there are 30 reviews for this property and each person gave their overal experience 5 out of 5 stars! Absolutely Perfect!

Ok, we are also going to fall into the camp that we are reluctant to give a review so that we will be able to rent this place again but this must be shared. This was our 6th trip to St. Thomas. We have stayed at the Ritz, Sugar Bay, Sapphire Beach and private homes. This one was the absolute best! The house was absolutely beautiful from every angle. Everything you need was provided for. If something was amiss the house managers were there to promptly to rectify the situation. The best part of this house the location. Red Hook is where you want to be in St. Thomas. There is a small path to walk to Smith Bay beach but we found it easier to load up the van with the (provided) chairs and cooler and head the 30 seconds to Sapphire Beach. It is our favorite beach on the island with nice views and great snorkeling. The snorkeling is excellent right off the back of the house as well. We ate in a few nights at the house (the Cost Plus was a good place to load up on food) and the rest at restaurants 3 minutes away in Red Hook. We hit a few bars there including Duffys which was fun as usual. Our favorite day trip was hopping on the ferry 5 minutes away and renting a jeep in St. Johns to see the beaches. You MUST go to Maho Bay and swim with the sea turtles and stingrays. AMAZING! We also took the ferry one night to go to Zo Zos in St. Johns for dinner. Highly recommended and try to time it to see sunset from their roof top bar. Back to the house, there was a great easy to use music system that let you play your ipod outside and the watch TV inside. The bedrooms were comfortable and the house was spotless. Needless to say we will be returning at soonest opportunity.

Good Friends, Good Times

Our group of nine women was thrilled with every aspect of this property. The accommodations were lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed pool time and porch time, as well as snorkeling and scuba diving just steps away from the cottage. The bar was well stocked upon our arrival, and we added to it when we left. The owners provided fruit, juices, bagels, and English muffins so a trip to the grocery on day one was optional. Each bedroom was quite comfortabe and had it's own thermostat. We enjoyed late night movies almost every evening in the theater room. Although we spent lots of time at Caribbean Castaway, we also enjoyed a charter day sailing trip on the Scubadu, a trip to St John, and time at Coki Beach. We had dinners in Red Hook which is a short five minute drive. Joey and her husband, the owners, were warm and accommodating, and Dawn and Dave, local property managers, were very helpful and available to us throughout our stay. Do not hesitate to book this property. It is all that is advertised, and so much more!
