Nestled in a mountainside filled with the native Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel of the mountain region, you will find peace and privacy in this inviting home. Located just a hop, skip and a jump from Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State forest, you can relax into the comforts of home in a nice, safe neighborhood after those long days trekking through the woods. You can drive to your fun (or for the more adventurous you can bike) in no time. Be awed by the Land of the Waterfalls or take a leisurely drive on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway. All you need is something to warm your stomachs as you take in the fresh mountain air sitting on the huge screened in porch, or by the fire. Enjoy the mountains and everything they offer without feeling like you have to rough it to say you have been there and done that. Come and enjoy the feeling of being home in your home away from home.
This is the house my mom built.... with a little help from the builders of course! I grew up here, spending most of my time in my backyard forest; digging, imagining, inventing, and dreaming. The house was just a child's formality because truthfully I would have preferred to stay outside forever. Being a grown up now, with my mom now gone, I steal away with my son and my dog as often as I can take a break from teaching, to my fond memories. However, since I know life feels better when we share what we love, I hope you will enjoy our home too... making memories of your own.
Sitting inside or out, I often feel like I am in a tree house.... and I like it:) The house is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and noises, yet is safely tucked into a private community of other homes. I think it is the best of both worlds for those who love trekking through the woods and rivers by day as well as those who just want to enjoy the quaint little town of Brevard.. with food, festivities and fun. Either way, you don't have to go but a few miles to get to the adventures you came for. Easy access and low key living equals stress relief for anyone.
