Mount Totumas Cloud Forest is 400 acres bordering La Amistad National Park. Visitors to our homestead will have 1.5 million acres of pristine cloud forest wilderness at their doorstep. La Amistad NP is Central America's largest protected mountain wilderness and on the property there are keystone species present such as Resplendent Quetzals, Three Wattled Bellbirds, Baird's Tapir, Mantled Howler Monkey, Black and Crested Guan, White-Faced Capuchin monkeys, mountain lions, ocelots and even Jaguars have been spotted in neighboring national park. We are in a remote wilderness location with a homestead that offers all the basic amenities thanks to our sustainable off the grid micro hydro power plant that taps the power of a nearby stream.
For your convenience the house has a kitchen and Wi-Fi. You will enjoy the mountain view and fresh mountain air!
Visitors will wake up to the calls of howler monkeys and have 30 km of trails at their doorstep. Horseback riding, hiking.
Access to the site requires travelling 9.8 km on a 4WD road. We provide transport from Volcan and can help you with the logistics of your trip.
There is no nearby store or town. If you are looking for an isolated wilderness experience than our homestead is just right for you. You will bring with you groceries and supplies when you visit and leave civilization behind for the duration of your visit.
