Elegant Rooms and Friendly Service

We had the good fortune to stay overnight at the Manor House in July this year. It is an old hotel in the heart of Madison, right beside a beautiful park with a monument dedicated to the "Four Freedoms" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Freedoms). The building is amazing, with a long front porch that is perfect for sipping margaritas at sunset. But you have to remember that Madison is located in one of Florida's dry counties, so bring your own! We stayed in Suite 7, which is really more like a luxury apartment than a room at a B&B. It has a huge living area, a capsule kitchen, laundry, good sized bedroom, and 2 full baths. The place was spotless, and tastefully decorated in an eclectic but elegant style. Ginny Weeks, proprietor, pointed out some nice touches like a little shelf in the bedroom to recharge your iPad, and that the refrigerator was stocked with sodas and water! The air conditioning was cool. The bed was ultra comfy. Really, we were in hog heaven! Thanks Ginny, we'll be back!

Words can not express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Manor. From the second I walked in I felt at home. My husband had the same reaction when he arrived. We loved every second of being there. You have made suite 7 so homey and comfortable. We love all your little touches that made it so comfortable!

Exceeded Expectations

Although online description is accurate, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Exudes historic charm and was within walking distance to the small downtown as well as several of the area's historic locations. The proprietor was most helpful and pleasant. Will stay again on my next visit and would recommend without hesitation.

My husband and I were working in Madison for 3 weeks...We rented a motel room and were feeling very confined....We were lucky enough to find the Manor House on the website VRBO ...As soon as we met with the owner, Ginny, we rented it immediately....It was spacious and offered all the comforts of home, right down to 2 full bathrooms and a washer and dryer...And after working all day it was great to come back and relax on the beautiful front porch..There are stores and restaurants all within walking distance...Ginny made us feel so welcomed with her Southern hospitality and charm...We would highly recommend the Manor House...

Nicely furnished and decorated apartment. If you are looking for a Madison experience, this place could not be better located. Felt like we were slipping back in time.

A Wonderful FInd!

It was with a bit of trepidation that we booked one of the two remaining suites offered to transcients at this once-40 room hotel...all of that disappeared when we opened the door (how clever to make our 'room key' our phone number!" and saw a spotless, more-than-adequate Suite in the truest sense of the phrase.
Everything was well-appointed, the kitchen fully stocked and equipped, no traffic noise, and a comfy bed.

We'll be back!

I had the opportunity to spend a wonderful evening here...the room was very comfortable and I had everything I needed. The inn is located on a beautiful park in the heart of Madison and I really enjoyed walking around downtown and photographing the old homes in the area. The hosts are very gracious and very concerned that I had everything I needed. I hope to return again.

I grew up in Madison just 1 blocks west and played with one of my good friends whose parents operated the (Madison Hotel) Manor House. This was around 1955. My stay certainly brought back fond memories. The history of this building goes back a long time and Virgina has done a great job of capturing the ambiance of those days gone-by. The suite is beautiful, large and warm. The location allows visitors to overlook the "Four Freedoms Memorial" and the Madison Courthouse (played in there also). Grab your cup of coffee and sit on the porch in a rocking chair and take it all in. You will not want to leave.

One Night Is Not Enough

Ahhhh - so relaxing, so energizing, completely wonderful. Suite 7 is the place for relaxing. I loved my oasis so much that I did not want to leave. The suite has a simple but perfect kitchen, great living and dining area, a study and the perfect bedroom. Oh and 2 full baths!! The Innkeepers Ginny and Bill are welcoming and informative. Sitting on the long, wide front porch sipping either coffee, tea or wine watching the birds and people go by takes you back in time. You can feel the stress melting away. Madison is a very walkable town with lots to view while walking. Hiking and Kayaking in numerous parks is close by. I am already planning my next visit.

A wonderful experience in a 19th century lodge with modern conveniences. It is located across from the park with beautiful camellias, azaleas, and live oaks. It is walking distance to restaurants and shops. Bicycling is great here with maps provided by the Chamber of Commerce. There is a newly paved 14 mile rails -to-trails from Madison to a scenic river. It is great value for a peaceful vacation retreat. We plan to return and would highly recommend it to others.
