Our family travels frequently in the Caribbean and usually rents from Home away. This was one of our Favorite vacations. The owner David is fantastic. Do not hesitate to contact him prior to renting this property. He will take the time to answer all your questions and tell you about the island. I always feel better renting from someone I have actually spoken to. This property is in the perfect location. The Property was exactly as described and the view was even better than the pictures. Some really nice benefits are the keyless entry. Our kids could go back and forth from the beach and pool to condo to get food and drinks without having to always carry a key. The unit also has a washer and dryer. There are numerous grocery stores and Walgreens within quick driving distance. The beach has amazing waves 3-5 feet everyday which our 7 and 9 year old enjoyed body surfing and boogie boarding. The resort grounds are beautiful and the pools are clean. The beach has miles to walk each day. There are also beautiful running paths that go through the resort and condos. While there we took surf lessons, zip lined in the rain forest El Yunque, hiked the rain forest to the waterfall, and went kayaking in the bioluminescent bay at night. I loved having access to the resort amenities (spa, casino, restaurants) but being enough away from the all the hustle. The villa was about a 3-4 minute walk to the resort. Everything was easy to get to. Kiosks #2 (La Parilla) in Luquillo is a must for lunch or dinner!! We are already planning a return trip!

The property is definitely worth considering if you are visiting Puerto Rico, but not for the listed price. We are grateful for the owner's willingness to negotiate, but still, we paid a lot more than what we would have paid for two rooms at one of the local luxury hotels and I am not sure it was worth it. We arrived to an uncleaned condo from the previous renters. (This was also the experience of a previous reviewer). The bed sheets did not fit the beds for two out of the three beds. (This was also experienced by a previous reviewer). The toliets did not flush properly and took 3 flushes, the tub quickly filled up with water during a short shower in each bathroom. The oceanfront view was very nice and beautiful. The lounge chairs for beach are quickly taken by 9am, so one must get up early to secure a chair on the beach. Although walking to the close by hotel was available and nice. Overall, the apt was nice and accomodated my family. Close by to restaurants, rainforest, and other beaches.
Owner's Response: I am very glad you enjoyed your vacation. I am sorry that the cleaning of the villa was not finished when you arrived. As in a previous case, when guests are leaving and have a late afternoon or early evening flight I try to allow them to stay as long as possible ( this is an advantage when compared to hotels that have a noon check-out time ). However, sometimes when another guest is arriving the same day this does not allow enough time for the cleaning of the villa to be completed at the exact moment new guests arrive. As for the other issues that were raised they have all been resolved and I wish that this traveler had contacted me during his/her stay because I have a handyman on-call that could have quickly responded.

We enjoyed our visit to Puerto Rico. We were in contact with the owner before our arrival and assumed that everything had been arranged for our arrival. We were assured that the maid would finish cleaning the apartment and be done by 1pm since our flight was scheduled to arrive at 12:30pm. After spending over 2 hours getting our rental car we arrived at the apartment to find 4 cleaners who had arrived a few minutes before us. There was no room that did not have a cleaner in it. Needless to say, we were exhausted and disappointed that the apartment was not ready. The view was beautiful but the kitchen utensils were not in good condition and we expected the kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses, pots, etc to be in better shape and better quality considering how much we were paying to rent the apartment. The lock on the front door is digital and did not always work which again was not acceptable. When we rent an apartment we expect everything to be in working order and in good condition. We did enjoy staying at the Ocean Villas but will be more cautious if we rent again.

Great Holiday...!

We celebrated a birthday and Easter at this wonderful condo. The weather was great, the location and access to the pools and ocean could not be better. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Every day we would look forward to spending time at the many pools and beach and "walking" back to the condo for relaxation. I will return and stay at this location again soon...!

Amazing

What a place! Amazing view; two pools and the ocean seconds from the front door. The apartment was great quality, really pretty much new. Stock with sand toys for the kids. Owner was easily accessable, not that we needed to talk to him much. It was smooth and easy and left us sad to leave. Thanks so much and we hope to come back soon.
