This Twin Spits area boasts one of the most walkable beaches in Puget Sound, from the North Spit, to the 100-acre Foulweather Bluff Nature Conservancy Preserve about 1.5 miles to the South, and is a birdwatcher's paradise. Eagles and osprey soar by so close you can see their feathers and hear their wings!
The herons fish right on our beach most mornings,
and ospreys and eagles cause quite a stir as they swoop overhead to spy and dive for fish to eat, sometimes right on the beach.
Always so much to do! Or NOT, and just relax and take in the views! Comfy lounging furniture. A very well-appointed kitchen. Large open space, flat screen TV, DirecTV, wi-fi. Comfortable beds of different sizes. Carport for two cars. Beautiful here in any weather!

Come on out. The fishing season is under way and is usually abundant.
Hope to see you soon to welcome you to this unique and delightful beach property in the great Northwest!
We love to be on the beach with our kids, friends, and grandchildren! We sail, too, and have anchored our boat in the bay out front.
Summer crabbing has been abundant most summers. THE best Dungeness Crab!!! Such feasts! And eating freshly caught salmon is superb. My husband, Steve, and I have raised our family in this part of the Northwest, exploring and going on adventures by land and boat. We enjoy sharing the beauty of this property with others; we love our times here by ourselves, too...the quiet, the water, the birds, the rhythms of the wind and water. Come see!
We bought our place in 2006 because of its location, right at the entrance to beautiful Hood Canal, with beaches to walk for miles, and kayaking and boating right from the saltwater beach, and a 270ft private pier. There are several buildings on the property---Heron House is the larger of two rental dwellings (the Kingfisher is smaller yet has access to the same beaches and boats)---and the view to the west with the snow-capped mountains, the birds soaring, the sunsets...well, these things are good food-for-the-soul for us. We do not take any of this beauty for granted, for sure. You'll see for yourself when you come for a stay.
Our family has 'eyes for agates!' Grandpa taught us all how to see them among the other rocks, especially when the sun is at a slant, and the agates just glow as you scan the beach at your feet. And we have sand dollars galore! The 270 ft private pier affords us many hours of fun, fishing and crabbing (in season) and watching the jelly fish travel on their way. Having the pier, and being on the beach, are unique features that we enjoy out here. The neighbors are friendly and respectful. Oh, and sometimes at night you can hear the mama seals with their pups out on our float in the spring. Amazing!
And if you want city-life, there are towns nearby for touring and shopping and eating and movies.
Come on out and see for yourself!
We'll have the house sparkling clean and ready for you! :)
