Heron House and Kingfisher provided the perfect venues for our large family reunion on Hood Canal. We also rented another home about .4 mile from Heron House. Heron House was our favorite with its well supplied ammenities and equipment and gorgeous views and breezes. We enjoyed the firepit and kayaks, and we caught crabs and king salmon in Hood Canal. The houses are well-equipped and clean, and comfortable. We cooked half of the meals there. Enjoying cousins from around the US was the best part, and these homes helped make that possible. Thank you for sharing your homes with us. Everything was wonderful.

Spectacular setting with it's own private dock, we walked for miles along the beach! The home was beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing. Homeowners have made every effort to create a perfect beach experience. We were lucky enough to arrive during crab season and some wonderful people willing to share their bounty of fresh puget sound crab.

Our stay at Heron House exceeded our expectation! The house is beautifully appointed and the kitchen is well stocked with the cooking utensils and pantry essentials to make preparing gourmet meals a breeze. The open floor plan and copious amenities offered comfort and breathtaking views. We stayed a total of eight days, two of which we never even left the property it offered so many opportunities for fun. We spent hours kayaking, crabbing and playing on the fantastic pier from which we watched the abundant wildlife (porpoise, seals, several bald eagles and Kingfishers). Our 7 year old loved exploring the beach, discovering the giant seastars and throwing rocks in the water. On the other days, we explored the many surrounding port towns (Port Townsend was our favorite), took ferries to other islands, visited Hurricane Ridge (one of the highlights of the trip) and had a fantastic day trip into Seattle. At the end of each day, we made sure we were back at the house to bask in the beautiful sunsets either from the pier, the balcony/deck, or one of the many cozy places inside. It was well worth the small additional fee to have use of the boats. The equipment is impeccably maintained and I was fairly amazed by all the options. There were four Kayaks (the “double” made it very easy and safe to bring a child), an array of lifejackets covering all sizes, as well as the small boat that helped in the crabbing adventure. The crab pots and cooking ring were all there and there was not a thing we thought during the week of that didn’t already exist at the house. The owners are a delightful couple who made every effort to make our stay amazing. We will remember this as one of our best family vacations!

We had a birthday celebration at Heron House and had an incredible weekend. Lynne and Steve are good people and warmed up to you right away,as if they had known you for years. The house and view are beautiful! We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This beautiful location has it all for those who in enjoy Mother Nature and her beauty, yet want the conveniences of near-by town. Nothing better than waking up to a view of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains with all their splendor. The house is very comfortable and has all the amenities of home. Great walking beaches, and many attractions near-by. Easy drive into Central Kitsap and the Olympic Peninsula. Ferries also easily accessible. This was by far one of the best vacations spots we have experienced. Been to the Pacific Northwest many times, but staying at Twin Spits Heron House was like the icing on the cake. The owners are very gracious and their hospitality made us feel right at home. Will plan on returning to this perfect retreat! A++++++
