Just 10 minutes by train from the Centre of London, and 2.3 miles to the centre of Greenwich (Cutty Sark), Brockley's quiet, leafy tree lined streets are a pleasure to behold after a day's touring in the hustle and bustle of London's centre, this lovely owner managed apartment will suit families with children over the age of 5 and also friends/couples sharing accommodation.

We believe it's pretty rare to find such a well appointed and spacious apartment - with its own charming private garden where you can relax with a coffee in the morning while you plan your day, using the guidebooks and maps provided.

This very spacious and comfy apartment (95 m sq) is just 10 mins by train or tube from the centre of London (London Bridge, Waterloo and Charing Cross (for Leicester Square and Theatreland) and all the major tourist attractions (London Eye, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, River Thames, British Museum, Big Ben, Westminister, St Pauls, Tower of London, Camden Market, Portobello Road, London Zoo, etc ..). Brockley has possibly the best transport links to all parts of London that you'll find anywhere! Although we are South London, we have direct tube links to trendy Shoreditch, Hoxton, Camden, Islington and Hampstead in North London.

We think you would be hard pushed to find anywhere, even in the centre of London, which has such excellent links to different parts of London.

Brockley has tube AND rail links and we have 5 (yes 5! rail stations within a short walk) (Brockley, Crofton Park, New Cross, Lewisham and Ladywell) . Also 2 buses every 10 mins to the centre of London.

Ideal for guests who are driving their own car across via Dover/Folkestone ports or Channel Tunnel: Its an easy 1.5 hour drive via M20/A20; we are just 2.5 miles from the A20 turnoff. We have unrestricted on street parking, located in a quiet, tree lined street, and NO parking fees or congestion charges.

The apartment is huge with plenty of seating for 6 people to relax in complete comfort ; Unlike many smaller places which will squash 6 people in, our lounge really does seats 6 as standard, as does the dining table;

Have a look at the floor plan diagram - note the huge room sizes - we can sleep 6 easily in the bedrooms - but the lounge can be used as a separate sleeping area if you wish - we have excellent portable beds which make sleeping arrangements extremely flexible, according to your needs.

There is a also spacious family size kitchen which is well equipped for all your needs - with washing machine/drier, fridge freezer, microwave etc - and plenty of pots, pans, sharp knives etc.

We have FREE WIFI

PLUS a Playstation 2 plus games which is very popular with teens , plus books, magazines, toys, board games for all. We also provide a useful selection of London streetmaps, guides, London guidebooks, timetables etc.

Locally are supermarkets, a great farmer's market selling local produce every saturday, just 8 mins walk away, great delis, a fantastic daily streetmarket in Lewisham, about 15 mins walk away, several excellent british pubs and a fantastic coffee bar 2 mins walk away also an excellent British fish & Chip shop. Brockley even has its own Microbrewery and their real Ale is sold in some of the local pubs, including the Talbot.

We've got great quirky independent shops and restaurants, including The Gantry, The Orchard, Brockleys Rock and the award winning Babur Indian restaurant - which was recently (Sept 2013) voted the BEST Indian Restaurant in BRITAIN!!! The Babur, which has been in Brockley for 28 years now, richly deserves this award.

Brockley has stunning Victorian properties in leafy streets and Hillyfields open space is 150 metres away.

Further Local Amenities: We are not in the congestion charging zone and have unrestricted on street parking for visitors who wish to hire cars or bring their own.

Trains from Brockley whisk you to central London (London Bridge) in 9 mins (2 stops). Brockley's Tube/Metro line (London Overground) (orange on map) joins the Jubilee, District, H&City, Victoria and DLR, meaning the O2 Arena for concerts and shows is just 17 mins away. Buses to central London are 200 metres away, an interesting 50 min journey taking in many sights. The new Emirates Airline Cable car is just 15 mins by DLR; takes you over the River Thames and to the other side of London, with amazing views over the river.

With a few minutes walk to the station, Hillyfields has fast and easy access to the London Eye, Tower of London, River Thames, Buckingham Palace, Theatres, West End shopping and all London’s best attractions.

We are about 2 miles from Greenwich, the setting for the 2012 Equestrian Olympics and famous for the Meridian Line, where you can stand at longitude zero with one foot in the East and one in the West Also at Greenwich is the Martime Museum, Planetarium, Royal Observatory, plus a charming craft and antique market.

From Greenwich you can take the Thames Clipper riverboat into London and disembark at Embankment Pier opposite the Houses of Parliament.

Airport and Ferry Access: With our excellent transport links to London, we are accessible from all the major London airports.

Stansted is about an hour.

Gatwick about 40 mins.

Heathrow about 1.5 hours.

City Airport 40 mins.

Brockley and Crofton park stations, both 10 mins walk away, have direct links to London Victoria in 30-35 mins for airport coach pickups.

Eurostar.

Crofton Park rail station, 10 mins walk, goes direct to St Pancras International (near to Kings X & Euston also) Monday -Friday, in 28 mins.

Road/Ferry from Dover.

We are located just 2 miles from the A20 which links to the M20 to Dover. From Dover to Lewisham is about an hour 20 mins drive; very direct.

Running Hillyfields is what we do for a living - it's not a 'hobby let', it's our livelihood so it's important to us and the repuation of Hillyfields that we run it professionally inorder to ensure that our guests have the best stay that we can provide.

We live nearby and leave guests in peace to enjoy their stay but if you need us we will respond promptly.

Hillyfields was our former family home and our daughter Lizzie was actually born there so its a very special place to us and we have a lot of happy memories of bringing up our children in Brockley, particularly the fun we had with the kids at Hillyfields park and the nearby Horniman museaum, a rea favourite of ours..

We worked really hard so that we could afford to keep Hillyfields when we moved about 20 mins away so that we could use it as a business venture for our secure financial future and for that of our kids.

Cindy Powell purchased this apartment in 1984

Brockley is a unique place, a tree lined conservation area with a lot of unspoiled Victorian properties that have some beautiful original features and an incredible park with views over London gives us a real feel good factor. No wonder families, artists and creative people want to live here. There are great independent restaurants, bars and shops locally - we don't have an 'identikit' high street full of the same shop chains you get everywhere, Brockley is that little bit different....

We own both the flats that make up the building. Guests all are very pleased to discover just how HUGE the apartment is, even with 6 sharing, there is plenty of space, plus a full size family kitchen; so people really feel at home to kick off their shoes, relax, cook and eat as a family together. The pretty gardens also are a real added bonus and a rarity in the London rental market; somewhere to sit outside and listen to the birds singing, with a glass of wine or breakfast.

The unrestricted FREE on street parking is a real bonus to guests from France, Italy or Spain who want to bring their own car via the Eurotunnel or Dover Ferry, and we are an easy 1.5 hour journey from these ports.

The building looks like a large Victorian house, but is in fact two purpose built flats, each having their own front door and uniquely, both flats have their own private garden, so guests have total privacy.

We think we provide a little oasis of calm within really easy access to the centre of London - the best of all worlds at a really affordable price.

Un très bel appartement, vaste, bien équipé et dans un état impeccable, un quartier calme et très bien desservi, un accueil et un service incomparables, "aux petits soins"... Tout était encore mieux que conforme à la description.

It is an excellent flat for those who wants a taste of British family life. The living room is nicely decorated with Christmas decoration (and a big Christmas tree!). It's very comfy and warm. A range of board games for family and video games for kids.

Bedding are clean and tidy. Bathroom is clean and bright with powerful shower and good supply of hot water. Kitchen is clean and spacious and with everything we need. Dish washing tablets are provided. Plenty of cutlery, plates and glasses for preparing family meals.

I must express our appreciation to the detail-minded arrangements of Cindy, the owner. We find almost everything we need for a trip, e.g. from hot water bag, thread and needles to lightweight shopping trolley in the flat. Very competitive price for a lovely apartment like this!!

The location is nice. A quite and safe neighborhood and also accessible to Central London. 10 minutes walk to Brockley Overground station with overground to Jubilee line or train to London Bridge. There're buses to Central London as well. Some may consider SE London as less convenient for sightseeing but I will say it's nice since a lot of transport choices available.

We all love this flat and really recommend this!

Appartement très confortable, lumineux, chaleureux et parfaitement équipé pour se sentir chez soi (musique, télé, console de jeux + jeux, lecteur DVD + DVD, hi-fi, machines à laver, ...). Les propriétaires, très discrets, font preuve d'une organisation efficace tout en restant à l'écoute de leurs hôtes. Situé dans un quartier périphérique (sud-est de la capitale) à la fois calme et à proximité des commerces, accessible en voiture sans paiement de parking, il n'est qu'à 5 mn à pied du bus, du métro ou du national rail, permettant de rejoindre aisément et rapidement le centre de Londres. Adresse idéale d'un point de vue rapport qualité-prix !

You see the pictures, you read the details... and once you get there, all you expect is here and I must add something else : Cindy thinks about everything, provides many informations, gives all the phone numbers you could need (Thank you for the giant map of the underground : highly appreciated !). You instantly feel at home when you enter here and it's so sad when you have to leave...

"Magnifique appartement , très calme. Notre séjour a été excellent et même si la situation de l appartement peut paraître un peu lointaine du centre, le quartier est très bien desservi par l''overground ou le bus. Nous conseillons cette location pour toutes les familles!!"

"Ideal gelegen (Bus / Bahn / Tube). London Bridge in 10 Minuten, Charing Cross in 20 Minuten per Bahn (oberirdisch) erreichbar. Wohnung sehr ruhig, gut ausgestattet, sauber, alles vorhanden. Angenehmes Quartier, kleine Läden in wenigen Schritten erreichbar."

"Un alloggio molto grazioso, ben arredato, luminoso e confortevole. Curato in tutti i dettagli, abbiamo trovato persino degli ombrellini a disposizione, oltre a giochi vari, guide, cartine e tutte le indicazioni utili per il nostro soggiorno a Londra. A 1 minuto dalla fermata dell''autobus e circa 5 dalla fermata della metro. Situato in una zona tranquilla e deliziosa, con facilità di parcheggio e tanto verde. Oltre le nostre aspettative, per un costo più che ragionevole. Sarebbe carino poterci tornare in estate per godere del barbecue in giardino. Consigliatissimo!!!!"

Hillyfields is a lovely flat in an adorable neighborhood. My husband and I stayed at Hillyfields with our two teenage daughters. We had plenty of room to hang out and it was a nice place to come back to at the end of a day of discovery in London. For us, the best part was the old cemetery just a few blocks away. It was an incredible piece of history. I also liked having the experience of living in a "real English neighborhood". The location was quiet and friendly. The tube was easy to get to and about 10 minutes to London central. I think our teenagers wanted to be a little closer to London, but it was nice to be farther away from the tourist crowds. Cindy was very helpful when booking and also had lots of information at the flat for getting around. Thanks Cindy!

This was our first trip to London and could not have a chosen a better place to stay than Hillyfields. Cindy provided great feedback and tips prior to the trip and was available if needed to assist while we staying at the property. Our family of 5 enjoyed the experience immensely, the beds were very comfortable, the shower was hot and generous and the apartment was very spacious, clean and freshly painted. Brockley is a great area to stay in and the nearby Hillyfields park is very picturesque. The short walk to Brockley station and two stops to London Bridge make this location ideal for London visitors.You won't be disappointed.
