Sapelo Island is a barrier island off the coast of Georgia about 45 minutes south of Savannah. The island is the size of Manhattan but has a population of 70 people rather than 4 million. Sapelo island is accessible only by ferry.. It has 7 miles of pristine beaches and one the longest undeveloped beaches on the east coast. The island is home to the University of Georgia Marine Inst., R J Reynolds's Mansion and The Geechee community of Hogg Hammock. Located in this quite, historic and peaceful village is the Sapelo Island Birdhouse our flag ship cottage in the birdhouse luxury series. This the largest and most luxurious cottage in the birdhouse series. This cottage has two master bedrooms suites, full gourmet kitchen, large 46 inch LCD with blue ray player, and WiFi. The great room has a sofa bed. A large table is available on the outdoor deck which is great for eating meals. The cottage has a large porch with a million dollar ocean view. Both master suites also have ocean view.

The cottage is 10 to 15 minutes away from the beach by golf carts. Golf carts can be rented for 20 dollars per day. The cottage is elegantly decorated with a bird theme. Locate art work purchased by famed wild bird carvers adore the walls. Four bikes are provided free with the rent. Other houses in the Sapelo Island Birdhouse series include the Painted Bunting, and the Wood Stork Cottage.

A great week on Sapelo!

What a great week on Sapelo Island!! This was our first visit and we can't wait to come back!

A huge "thank you" to Brandon & JR! Brandon's tour of the north end of the island was fun and all his help and guidence - collecting blue crabs from the marsh, taking the seine net out to the beach to catch fresh shrimp!! Everyone also enjoyed deep sea fishing with JR. But most of all we enjoyed the seclusion of the island and our deserted beach. Exactly what our family needed.

Sapelo Island is really neat! We think it's relaxing and quiet at the beaches and in the cottage. Everybody here is so nice and helful. It's an awesome, relaxing place for a vacation. We love Sapelo Island.

A perfect home for relaxing

What a perfect house for relaxing with the family!! The porch was perfect for dinner, cocktails, watching the sun come up and the beautiful twight over the marsh. Of course our boys thought it was perfect for legos and dinasour playing.

Thank you for all the thoughtful touches throughout the home. It is evident you really think about what the guests may want. Francine's meals were great too!

To all other visitors, seek out Cabretta Beach, as well as Nannygoat. You will not be disappointed. Truly one of the most beautiful places in the world. ..... especially at low tide

Crabbing is AWESOME!

Our week on Sapelo has been a wonderful adventure for all. Watching our children and grand children fly their kites out in the marsh is a memory I will cherish forever.

Cabretta Beach is so beautiful and our days on South Beach were great - tons of shells after the storm. The old Church t Raccoon Bluff was special - we did notget to see Shell Ring or Chocolate Plantation because of a fallen trip across the road - Next visit!

Grand children loved the cirus room at the mansion and the hubby loved photographing all the natural beauty.

The Birdhouse was perfect and we will always remember our days on Sapelo and treasure the memories.

Sapelo was a wonderful place to visit! For adults it has it's wonder and for teens so mch to explore and kids beach fun and adventure that will be forever lasting in their hearts. The memories for all of us will be a permanent tattoo!

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful Birdhouse. All the amenities make the home very convenient & comfortable. The island was beautiful & we loved every minute. Our family cannot wiat until our next visit.
