Spacious, great location

This place was larger than we expected. Great location, close enough to walk to downtown, but remote enough to avoid the downtown traffic entirely if you get to know your way around. If you bring a bike you can probably leave the car parked all week. Long Wharf Seafood and a cafe right around the corner, grocery and walmart within a mile. Nice walk/ride/jog down Washington st. to Goat Island. We walked downtown and took the water taxi to the Newport Folk Fest. It became a tradition to swim off the peer every night. I joked before we got there that I thought I could hit the bay with a football from this house, but realized when we got there that I probably could! Sunset off the peer was picture perfect.

Owner's Response: Jude,
Thanks for staying with us. I purchased this home for the exact reason you mention - we are close to the water, a walk to downtown but on a quiet deadend street. Please think of us again if your travels bring you to Newport.

My fiance and I loved our stay in Newport! We were able to have friends and family visit throughout the week - and they had several rooms to choose from! The house was very well kept - The laundry and dishwasher were very convenient. We loved sitting out on the patio and grilling every evening. The house is very accessable to both the town and beach. We enjoyed our walks into town (only about 10 or 15 minutes) but we drove to Easton Beach (about 2 miles) with our beach gear. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Owner's Response: Christine,
Thank you for your kind words. Like you, we spend a lot of time grilling and eating outdoors after an active day on the water. I especially like the view of the harbor. After walking downtown after dinner we sometimes take the pedicabs (bicycle cabs) back home. They are a lot of fun. Please think of us if your travels bring you to Newport again.

Your home was perfect for our visit. The location could not have been better as we parked the car for the week and walked and biked everywhere. Inside was very clean and comfortable. We had friends come over for a barbeque and we all ate on the huge teak table outdoors-if fit all 12 of us for dinner! In the past we have rented nice places in Newport but none provided the benefits that your home offers-close to town, 1 block from the harbor on a quiet dead-end street with off-street parking. My parents, who are hard to please, also stayed with us for 2 nights and they even loved it. We will definitely come back next year. Thanks again for your hospitality.

The house is a beautiful old, typical New England house.Very roomy, with every amenity and well-stocked. The owners were very helpful. The location was very convenient to everything. There was so much to do in the area than I would have thought. I even took a helicopter flying lesson! I would certainly rent here again.
