We whole-heartedly recommend Bear Chalet for a great place to stay in Big Bear!
Our family of 7 (myself and my husband, my daughter and her husband, my three grandchildren and their dog) enjoyed our trip to Big Bear so much! Staying in a place you love makes a big difference when you take a trip. Bear Chalet was clean and well stocked with everything needed to have a wonderful time. I especially appreciated the extra things like paper towels, nice linens and adobable decor. We all felt very much at home and slept well in the comfortable beds. It was a plus to be able to enjoy the outdoor snow play area and appreciate all the beautiful nature that surrounds Bear Chalet. We hope to go back often, we are so happy to have found a mountain resort for future vacations. Also, the owner was so nice to work with and very accommodating and conscientious in every way.

The location cant be matched! Cabin is beautiful inside and out. Kids had a blast sleding whle we sat in the hot tub on the porch. It was great this is definatly our top pick!!!

Just perfect!

We just returned from our third stay at Bear Chalet. If you are looking for a quiet, private, and lovely cabin this is it. With a sledding hill behind the cabin and skiing just down the road, the location can't be beat. Clean and cozy, we plan to return next year for more fun in the snow!

23rd. annual family trip to Big Bear

Our family have been going to Big Bear for 23 years and we have stayed in different cabins every year, I would say this is one of the best. The cabin is open plan, very spacious and works perfectly for a great family get together. We ate in each night using the bbq and then followed that with the outdoor spa which was wonderful.
The location to the slopes was perfect, 5 mins away by car, spent the day on the slopes and returned to the cabin to a lovely fire and fun evenings.
Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

We arrived on a Friday to the Bear Chalet and we were pleasantly surprised. It is such a cute spacious cabin with a beautiful view in the back. The kitchen was very nice and there was a table that seats 6 where we had a nice family style dinner. We were lucky to have some nice snow and make a sled run in the back yard which kept everyone busy for hours. Very close to Bear ski resort which was great too! Would definitely stay there again next time we visit. Also the owner had great communication during the booking process and even answered questions via email during our stay. Thanks for the great trip!

Fun in the snow

Our family really enjoyed our time at the Bear Chalet. We spent the majority of our time in the backyard exploring, building snowmen, and sledding. We saw lots of deer tracks but were not lucky enough to get up early enough to see them. The cabin is really comfortable and has everything you need. This is the first place we have stayed were the owner was thoughtful enough to provide some firewood - nice touch. The drive way is a little steep, however, a really nice guy showed up to plow it so that was really helpful. The cabin is in close proximity to Bear Mountain and the zoo. Thanks for a great family get-a-way!

Just returned from a week at Bear Chalet for Christmas. Everything was as described except for the amazing view from the large living room windows into the forest as it snowed. You can't describe it. You have to see it! The owner was very helpful and seems to take pride making sure you have all you need. Thank you for some nice memories!

Great place for the weekend!

We had a great time when we visited the Bear Chalet in Big Bear, CA. Our group of 6 adults was so comfortable--the beds were nice and clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and the couches were amazing! A huge plus for us was that each couple was able to have their own space--something thats difficult to find in other rentals. The hot tub and deck were also a great way to spend the afternoon. We will definitely be back.
