Catch a Wave was obviusly built by people who love fun, beauty, and good living! And the owners have getting there down to a science, so easy to do with all their planning. I would have never figured this out on my own! The Cay, the neighborhood, the house with pool, the design, the decor...All the best. Always something to do on Elbow Cay in the many restaurants, live music, Kareoke, Bingo. Food out was great anywhere we went. Local people just amazing and welcoming. We had the best of all worlds, slow sunrise mornings having coffe on the deck, long leisurly walks exploring all the more beautiful than the next beaches, or Hopetown,afternoon cocktails at the beach, or on the deck, then nights out with entertainment. Or nights in with shared cooking, and games. In the late winter there was always one side of the Island that was protected from any breezes that might have been too cool, I loved that! We practically lived outdoors, which was even better. When we were inside, the fun exciting colors and decor kept us just as happy. Great job on making us want to just move there! Thank you for a wonderful vacation.
PS I also am an Island Vacation rental owner, and have gotten many ideas from your home I hope to use in mine to make guests so comfortable!

Very nice home with all the amenities. You can tell the owner goes out of her way to make sure all the details are right. Elbow Cay is a really nice place as well. Great food... nice beaches. Highly recommend getting a boat. Go down and talk to Junior at the Sea Spray. Great guy and he can point you in the right direction. Only thing I would point out is that the Abacos are not really tropical year round. Just like Florida, you can have some days where you end up in Sweatshirts and jeans even in March. Also, if it is cool and the wind is ripping from the north, it really limits your options as far as boating goes. That said, it's a beautiful place. Tahiti Beach (just down the street) was amazing for our kids and we could have eaten at Firefly and Sea Spray every night. We hit Disney World on our way back at the end of the trip, and our kids both thought the Abacos was their favorite part of the vacation. That should tell you something.

My first experience on Elbow Cay and I must say it was everything we had hope for despite the cold weather front that came through.
Catch a wave was the perfect place to stay. It's location was perfectly situated between Hope Town and Tahiti Beach, with Sea Spray Marina and the Abaco Inn within a 2 minute golf cart ride. Also, the best grocery store on the island by far is "the food store" and it's about 5 minutes from the house.
The house itself was much nicer than the photos that we saw online which was a very pleasant surprise. The house has lots of room and is very comfortable. It's extremely well maintained, has a great kitchen and a HUGE deck that allows you to have good views of both the ocean as well as the sea of Abaco. The beach in front of the house is accessible and is just a short walk from the house. However, I would go to Tahiti Beach at low tide every day possible, unless you rent a boat and want to explore (which I highly recommend).
Best dining on the island goes to Firefly Resort, lunch at Abaco Inn & On da Beach bar & grill are both excellent lunch choices.
Hope Town has Lighthouse Liquor store which is the best on the island for both selection and price. Wine Down Sip Sip is a good place for a drink, but the food is not worth the money as their portions are tiny. Hope Town Lodge would be another good place for both lunch at the Reef Bar or their more formal dining room for dinner. Hope Town Coffee House has great muffins, scones, panini sandwiches and quiche.
Renting a boat is a must. We used Island Marine and were extremely pleased. You can rent one for more than one day and negotiate with Sea Spray Marina to dock the boat there, which is only 2 minutes from the house. They told us as long as we frequented their bar or restaurant they wouldn't charge us to dock the boat. We only rented the boat for a day, but we did frequent their outdoor bar and the manager (Junior) took extremely good care of us during our entire trip.
I've traveled all over the Caribbean and absolutely loved Elbow Cay and our stay at Catch a Wave, we will definitely return. The house was great and there's enough to do on the island to keep you occupied and if you rent a boat there's so much more to see and do...

Great House, wonderfully spacious, close to town (how could it not be on a 7mile long island), spectacular views, short walk to the beach. Internet friendly. Had a great time & will definately return.

Fantastic vacation spot

We just returned from a 2+ week stay at "Catch a Wave" on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas. The house has everything you could possibly want or need for a comfortable vacation stay - even an icemaker in the fridge! The location is perfect - halfway down the island so you can easily get to one end or the other in 5 or 10 minutes. The house comes with a golf cart and it was so handy for quick trips to the store or just leisurely sightseeing. The weather was perfect, the waves were constant background "music" and all-in-all it was a great vacation. We would definately go back again and would unreservedly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-maintained vacation home in a beautiful location.

Catch a Wave is a home away from home. The wonderful panoramic view of White Sound and the ocean may be the initial attraction, however the house is a jewel in the setting, truly capturing Elbow's sentiment, and is picturesque and comfy. I credit the very caring, conscientious and creative owners who really paid attention to layout and detail and nailed it.

Thank you thank you for making our, “home away from home”, a real home. Everything was perfect down to the special knife that cuts the homemade Bahamian bread to your specifications. We have been coming to the Abaco’s for many years but this week has been very special.
