Quiet, relaxing get-away

My wife and I could not have been more pleased with our choice to spend a weekend here. The house was fantastic! Very clean, the bed was comfortable and the house was nicely equipped with dishes, pots, pans and other kitchen utensils for those who want to cook meals during their stay. It was nice to have the satellite television and the wi-fi was easy to connect to and worked well for the small amount of time I used it. The house was cozy and comfortable for the two of us, but with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it can comfortably accommodate larger parties as well. The property is really beautiful! It is fairly secluded. We had been in the house for less than an hour when my wife spotted a wild turkey out in the yard. Saturday morning I stepped outside to enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck and surprised a couple of deer who were grazing on the lawn. As I was watching them I spotted half a dozen turkeys down by the pond. We scared a couple more deer off of the lawn when we returned to the house late in the afternoon. The house is a ranch style and the north end of the house is basically made up of windows, which lets anyone in the open greatroom/kitchen area soak in the amazing view looking out for miles across the valley. You just can't get tired of that view! Outside, there is a nice deck with lovely overhanging vines, a porch swing and a set of deck chairs. There is a fire ring with a supply of firewood on hand. There is a large sloping yard that would probably be great for sledding if you went there in winter. We went in the middle of October and I think the fall foliage was at the peak of its beautiful display of colors. I travelled through the area a week later and noticed that those trees that had not already dropped their leaves had shifted to darker shades of red and brown. The location is very convenient for those who are going to visit the Mohican state park and forest. It is only a few miles away with only a handful of turns to make before you are in the park. In fact if you cycle regularly+want to go and use the bicycle trails in the park, I think you could just ride your bike from the house and leave the car behind. The city of Loudenville was not far away, with several options for dining or shopping for any items you might have forgotten to pack. The caretakers were very friendly and helpful when we arrived by giving us some suggestions of things to do and see during our visit. We loved our time there and look forward to returning in the future!
