Stunning waterfront location, great house!

My family of five, plus my mother, had the pleasure of staying here for a week in August. It was one of the best vacation locations ever. This house literally sits on a beach, with a beautiful view of the water in a protected harbor off the Atlantic. The house was built about two years ago, and it incorporates the nicest amenities (incredible master bathroom, gourmet cooks kitchen, etc.) but it is also very quaint and homey, with lovely art and antiques throughout.
There's all sorts of fun water toys and a kayak available for use; plus, there's a wonderful company that rents SUPs (stand up paddle boards) just across the road. We all loved the SUPs and spend a lot of time at the beach (but, even in August, that water is COLD!). Note that the beach is very rocky, so water shoes are definitely recommended. There's also a very fun island in the distance that is easily accessed by a land bridge at low tide.
A few things that I hadn't prepared for before our trip, but worked out just fine:
-No TV (my kids were a bit disappointed, but this was GREAT...we played tons of games...they have many there...and enjoyed the outside a LOT!)
-No A/C on the bottom floor, where the bedrooms are. Again, no big deal, as we opened all the windows and enjoyed the fresh breeze and listening to the water lap up the beach.
-Lots of locals use this beach (Gashouse Beach), so you will hear folks outside of your windows at all hours of the day. Never bad or crazy, though.
The caretaker was FABULOUS, too! Very, very helpful!!!
Also, Marblehead is so cute and so easy to walk to. 10 mins or less and you are in the middle of old Marblehead and great restaurants, shops and bars. We also enjoyed exploring Burial Hill (2 min walk) and Fort Sewel (4 min walk). It's very hilly in some areas, so you will want to wear good walking shoes and be prepared. The driving is Marblehead is tricky; lots of one-way streets (including the one on which this house is located). Make sure you have a good GPS!
We also considered staying in Salem, but so happy we chose Marblehead. Salem is far more touristy and busy.
Very, very happy with our stay and hope to return!
Owner's Response: We are thrilled that our home is as warm, snug, and beautiful to others as it is to us. We especially like the description that the cottage is literally on the beach. That describes it better than we may have done.

We didn't think to say the water was cold and it is, and the beach is sandy but does have rocks. Water shoes is a great idea.

The beach is small and can be crowded on the weekends, (Not your own private beach that belongs to the house, the one in front of it.) but it is quiet in the mornings and at night. There are no parties, or groups that go late. It is a family beach.

We will take tv off the list of available items to use, until we find it, or buy a new one. Thank you for letting us know.
