We just got back from our annual trip to the Keys. Our preference has been to stay on Marathon for the past 4 years and at this point I am not sure if we will ever stray from that decision. Every year we rent a different place with another family (between us we have a 17, 16, 13, and 12 year old). 2012 was my turn to find our place…and I must say everyone was impressed. The house worked out so well for sleeping and living arrangements but the best part was access to all the Keys has too offer. Spending the day on the water is tiring but having the boat slip right out the back door was perfect. The pool was a nice change from all the salt water and the sunsets were spectacular each evening. The house had the coldest A/C and fans in every room (which was a plus for me). Having 3 bathrooms for that amount of people was nice and being able to leave all our water equipment inside on the bottom level was nice. We utilized the bikes (my husband rode one every morning to get Cuban coffee, and the 7 mile bridge is a nice short ride away), the kids took out the Kayak a few times (once to try and catch up to a Loggerhead just outside…it was too fast). We fished off the back; a few fish as well as a small shark were caught and even a huge spider crab. Joe & Mary were helpful and gave us useful information on the area, and the Debbie (cleaning lady) was super nice on our day of arrival. We are already booked for next year breaking our tradition of a new place each year! We all highly recommend this home for families as well as 2-3 couples…and Lazy Days restraint across US1 on the Atlantic side (yum!)

This house is in a great location. The sunset is beautiful from the large dock. I loved the view of the 7 mile bridge. The location is also excellent for boaters and divers. We were minutes away from Sombrero Reef. We liked how we had such easy access to the atlantic by boat. The pool is small but great for small children. We were very comfortable and had a great time.

We stayed at this property in mid June with 2 other couples. The photos accurately reflect the appearance and amentities. The place was very clean upon our arrival. We did require more bath towels but the contact number answered immediately and took care of the request within the day, so if you were to run into any issues -- CALL, they will be happy to assist you. They were pleasant and accomodating. The view from the patio is gorgeous and having a pool onsite was a bonus. This is walking distance to the old 7 mile bridge which we walked to every morning for our daily exercise. It was nice to have 2 bicylces to use to sightsee. You can also walk to the Sunset Grille which is a fun restaurant/bar with a pool and right across from the old 7 mile bridge, which is a great place to catch the sunset. Other good restaurants in the nearby area are Castaways Bar, Keys Fisheries and The Stuffed Pig. Priced accordingly, would stay here again.

This home is great, location location location. Very comfy and wonderful backyard for keeping boat and seeing some great sunsets. Thanks Alex

We just returned to Maine from an amazing vacation at this home. My husband and I and 2 other couples had a comfortable stay right on the gulf. We enjoyed having the boat right in the front yard, fishing every day, snorkeling at nearby Sombrero Reef, two manatees that swam right up to the dock, walking to the 7 mile bridge, and enjoying some incredible sunsets! The house was perfect. It's a duplex and there were no neighbors there during our stay. Our side of the house had great views of the gulf and the top floor balcony and the dock had great panoramic views of the bridge on one side and islands on the other. Each couple had their own bathroom with great tubs. The kitchen is well equiped and the couch in the living room is really comfortable (great for an afternoon nap). All kinds of stores nearby for groceries, bait, souvenirs, etc. Marathon is a great place to be close to what you need, yet far enough away to feel the island way of life. There are several great restaurants - we tried Sunset Grill (our favorite), the Island, Salty's Tiki Bar (walking distance) and one up in Isla Morada next to the big fishing store. We'd definitely recommend this place and hope to return in the near future.

This place was perfect in every way. The house was clean and nicely furnished. We had three couples on our visit and having a seperate bathroom for each couple was so convenient. We greatly enjoyed being located directly on the gulf and we used the kayak, fished and snorkeled from the dock and were even visited by a manatee! The location was wonderful - close to everything we needed with many restaurants and shops in walking distance. We went on a fishing charter with Sea Squared Charters which was practically right next door and all had a great time. We spent our evenings on the patio and enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night. The rental manager and Joe and Mary were excellent to work with and always responded promptly. A five-star rating here is well deserved and we would definitely rent this location again if we are back in Marathon.
