Photos and Description of the Sayulita vacation house rental
House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 4-8)

Sayulita is your destination for relaxing and enjoying Mexico’s rich cultural and natural beauty, and the house and casitas of Casa Higuera provide the perfect accommodation to enjoy Sayulita’s window into Mexican village life in a spectacular coastal setting.

What sets Casa Higuera and Casa Sofia apart is its beachfront location, gorgeous ocean views, spacious and attractive design, and exclusive location on Sayulita’s best hill overlooking Sayulita Bay just steps away from both beach and village.

The self-contained casitas at Casa Higuera each offer a private entrance, spacious patio terraces overlooking the ocean, full kitchen, bedroom with a king-sized bed, living area with a couch that doubles as a twin bed to accommodate an additional child or adult, patio-dining under a traditional palapa roof, private bath, and plenty of closet space. You don't have to get out of bed to see the ocean!

Casa Higuera contains two private bedroom/bathroom suites (one king-size and one queen-size), additional half bath, full-sized kitchen, indoor dining area, living room, huge terrace with outdoor dining and living areas, and shaded tropical garden courtyard under a huge 100-year-old Higuera tree.

Casa Sofia is a two story house, with three bedrooms and three baths and virtually the same stunning views as Casa Higuera. The top floor has a bedroom with a king-sized bed, a full bathroom, a huge fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a large patio. The downstairs has two bedrooms with king-sized beds, two full bathrooms, kitchenette/living/dining room and a large patio also with ocean views. The house is quite large (2500 square feet) and is ideal for living together but also having separate space.

Our houses and casitas are built with traditional and contemporary Mexican architectural design elements – including palapas, Spanish arches, and hand-painted Mexican Talavera tile. They are attractively decorated with Mexican arts and crafts, and contain a small collection of novels and books about Mexico.

Our accommodations are surrounded by tropical lushness and offer an additional common area to sit and relax around our private, landscaped hill that meanders right down to the beach. Daily maid service is provided.

Getting here: It couldn't be easier. Fly into the Puerto Vallarta airport on the carrier of your choice, grab a cab, and 30 minutes later you will be ready for a day at the beach. There is no need to rent a car as everything you will want is just steps away.

This is simply a wonderful, authentic, and very dramatic place. Perfect ocean views and breezes for completey inside/outdoors living. We never closed a window the entire week we were there. Fantastic beach access. Perhaps the nicest ceilings we had ever seen in Mexico. Casa Sofia exudes charm and grace.

Location, amenities and overall amazing place...great for kids

We had such a fun fun time. We have been visiting Sayulita for ten years but since having two kids we have had to change locations. We stayed at Casa Sophia and it was amazing. The views from the top floor amazing. Aaron was easy to deal with and his information was complete and accurate. The house was well stocked with pots and pans etc. There is so much space and again the view is awesome. The pool is perfect for the late afternoon to chill out with our kids and the deck had full sunshine perfect for lounging during our kids naps. The other people who stayed in the other places were so sweet and kind and it felt like our own little oasis. The walls are thick so no concerns of hearing others either. We will return again for sure. Very kid friendly. Staff are amazing as well and so helpful and sweet

Amazing Place to Stay!

We just got back from a trip to Sayulita with a group of 12 people and we stayed in Casa Higuera, Casa Sofia and 1 Casita. The trip was amazing and everyone had such a great time. The houses/accommodations were definitely above and beyond what we expected and the view was amazing. Marta and Martin were also incredible, very responsive and always accommodating. We also got to meet the owner, Aaron, on our trip who was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will certainly be back next year!

Paradise in Sayulita

What an incredible place to stay. Clean, artfully/tastefully decorated, quiet, near the beach, good food and the town square. A private paradise. The patio is large enough to do yoga, hang out and read a book, or just enjoy the ocean views. The tropical garden paths to the beach and town were a treat. For others wondering, this place is safe and peaceful. A lovely paradise in Sayulita. We will definitely return. Thank you!

Casa Sofia Casita#4 Amazing View, Private and Quiet on the South Hill

I just returned from a 10 day stay in Casita #4 at Casa Sofia . The casita was very well stocked, clean, spacious and had an amazing view of the beach a block below the property. The pool was lovely and overlooked the beach. There is a short cut into town...about a 2 min walk....down a curved garden path filled with tropical flowering plants and there is also a path through the property right to the beach.
I am looking forward to making this an annual tradition!!
Highly recommend it!

Paradise by the sea

I had researched the rentals and the town of Sayulita extensively before choosing Casa Higuera. My husband and I were absolutely delighted with our casita (#6) with its ocean view, beautiful artwork and special touches. Our 7-day stay was relaxing and fun. The beach and town were very close, but not TOO close. The landscaping and gardening at Casa Higuera are utterly amazing - our little piece of paradise. We enjoyed the town so much! My husband rented a surfboard and had a lot of fun. I went to a yoga class. We both took a scuba certification class from a local outfit, and got to see Punta de Mita and the Marietas islands. Our only regret was that we had to leave, eventually.....but look forward to returning. There is still so much to discover! I would definitely love to stay at Casa Higuera again. Many thanks to Sayulita Life for their excellent website, and El Sayulero for the informative weekly newsletter. Also thanks to Sayulita Entourage for the diving instruction, Paraiso Yoga, and Calypso restaurant.

Casa Higuera/Sofia are the best in Sayulita!

I'm hesitant to write a review for this property because I love it so much and selfishly want to keep it to myself. However, in the interest of supporting Aaron, here goes.

I've been visiting Sayulita for the past 10 years and part of the reason is because I LOVE staying at Casa Higuera. The location is PERFECT -- steps to the beach and 5 minutes to town. Because it's on a hill overlooking the ocean, there's a breeze that keeps the place cool and ensures that you're going to sleep with the sound of waves breaking on the sand, every night. I also love the property's reflection of the Mexican heritage with the tile work, furniture, artwork and books that you'll find in all of the accommodations. Aaron and his family have a deep respect for the Mexican people and the culture and it's reflected in all of the many details of each of the houses and casitas.

This year, a pool was added to the beautiful grounds, along with an outdoor shower and palapa-covered sitting area. Just today, I took a dip on my way up the hill and sat and enjoyed the view of the coast and the beach from a new angle. It's a great addition to an already fabulous setting.

Aaron is accommodating and responsive to all reservation requests and Marta and Martin, the local caretakers are friendly and do a great job keeping the place clean and stocked with everything you need for a relaxing and fun holiday. Next year I'll come back with a group to celebrate a milestone birthday, and can't wait to share this little slice of paradise with all of my pals. It's perfectly set up for groups with the two main houses and individual casitas. Space for all!

I highly recommend this property - the BEST in Saylulita. P.S. Keep it to yourself, don't spoil it for the rest of us!

Loved my accommodations. Great location, safe, friendly, epic views, clean and beautiful. It was my first time, but it will definitely not be my last! It was my first time in Sayulita and my casita was just one of the many things that made my stay most enjoyable. The town has great food, friendly people and my only disappointment was having to leave :(

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here. We stayed in Casita #4 and it was perfect for two people. The location is right where you want to be...out of the craziness of downtown, yet only a 2 minute walk if you want to join. The beach is about a 30 sec. walk down a path and then the surf break is right out front. The casita was clean, comfortable, had wonderful AC unit, and a great kitchen equipt with all the necessaties. We had many nights on the patio that overlooks the town and beach while having a cocktail or cerveza! There is a great pool to dip in after a surf or swim in the ocean, long with an outdoor shower. This place was the most perfect spot to stay in while you enjoy your time in Sayulita. We LOVED it!
