we arrived in valencia on a wet day in november but this didn't effect our stay in any way. we were collected at the airport by george and taken to the appartment where we met gina. we were made welcome and shown around appartment which was beautifully kept and told of local shops etc.
Gina informed us of local markets and distances to walk to the old town and the catherdal where we wanted to visit.
we found the apartment ideally place for the old town and easy to walk to with lots of shops , markets and resturants offering a wide variety of foods.
a basic knowledge of spanish is needed as not on the main tourist route and most people do not speak english although there are some.
the biopark is the most amazing zoo we have ever visited with the animals roaming free and not behind bars,(barriers are there to prevent animals getting to paths) it is split into 3 areas with a selection of animals roaming together freely and allowing you to walk around the foot paths and enjoy the very changing scene and they roam.
another highlight was a trip to the science park where we visit oceangraphic which was totally amazing, the fish were held in tanks you could walk around and through seeing the fish in as natural enviroment as possible, we had lunch in the submerged restaurant which fish swimming around the whole area in a circular tank, beautiful food, service and local wine an fantastic day.
we travelled to the zoo and science park by taxi which was cheap no more than 8 euros to the zoo and 6 to the science park.
in the old town we visited the catherdral and the various squares and small side streets which was wonderful lots of lovely shops and resturants to visit.
on arriniving back to the apartment one afternoon Gina arrived with abottle of bubbly for my mother in laws 70th birthday which wa a lovely thought.
our week sadly ended with the arrival of Gina and George's arrival to drive us back to the airport, having the transfers included made our lives a lot easier and made both our arrival and departure relaxed.
the weeks break was wonderful and something we would like to repeat maybe staying longer by using Gina and George's country house with pool for total relaxation
thanks for a great week, Julie , John and Mo
Owner's Response: Thanks Julie. I am glad you wrote about the Ecopark, its sounds great. It is new and I haven't been yet and now I can't wait to take my boys. It is also useful for other guests to know about the cost of taxis. Yes, they are quite cheap and convenient as you can catch one from just outside the front door of the apartment. We would love to see you at our lovely lodge just outside Valencia. For anyone who is interested you can view it on property reference 89662.

Alloggio perfetto!

The beni 4 visit valencia

Review Submitted: July 28, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
There were 5 of us staying in the apartment straight after the music festival in Benicassim. There was enough space for all of us to live in luxury, with 2 bathrooms and a shower in each. I would recommend this apartment to anybody going to valencia. It's such good value for money, and Gina and George are such nice people that you would struggle to find a better deal in Valencia.

Thank you ever so much much Gina, we all had a lovely time.

A brilliant place to stay!

The apartment was the best we have stayed in. For once, everything worked – we even had sharp knives! It was very roomy and at the same time cosy. Having two bathrooms was an added luxury. The location of the apartment couldn’t have been better. We were able to stroll into the centre every evening without bothering for buses, trains etc. Shopping for food was easy with so many supermarkets within walking distance and the brilliant fresh food market just a few minutes walk away. The lovely, friendly welcome and collection/delivery to the airport was an added bonus for a really special holiday. We had a wonderful stay managing to visit so many places and had some great food along the way. Communication with Gina was great and we would recommend this apartment to anyone. We will certainly be staying there again!

This is one of the best holiday apartments I have ever rented. It was clean, very well funished and extremely comfortable. There was everything we needed for our stay. The owner was very helpful and supplied refreshments for our arrival. We were collected from the airport at no extra charge. The area of Russafa is very up-and-coming and this apartment is situated perfectly for bars, cafes and restaurants and only a 10 minute walk from the old City Centre. The apartment even has a car parking space which is very unusual in Valencia.
I would highly recommend this property.

Enjoy Valencia as a Spaniard.

Because of its ideal situation you can enjoy Valencia as a citizen. Within a distance of 200 mtrs there is a wonderful "mercado", where you can buy everything for your breakfast or other meals. All the interesting things in old as well as in new Valencia can be done by foot.
This is the chance to discover interesting districts for buildings, as well as restaurants (tapas).

Superb apartment

From the cool marble floors, to the jacuzzi bath, to the well equipped kitchen, this apartment has everything 2 couples or a small family would need. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Bull ring and the city centre shops and restaurants. However, the little supermarket around the corner is cheap and well stocked. We found an excellent Irish bar a few yards from our front door and some great brasseries within spitting distance of your balcony. We took the bus to the beach (great market on a Sunday) and walked around most of the F1 circuit. We hired a car (and the use of the apartment's garage) and enjoyed the drive to L'Albufera and its lake and beaches. The architecture in the city is surreal and a visit to Oceanografic is a must. The kids loved the dolphin show.
I came home thinking that maybe I'd quite like to live in Valencia. Great place! Superb apartment!
Owner's Response: I am glad Michelle had a great time. Having the garage is a huge bonus because parking in Valencia difficult and expensive. It makes the apartment a great base for exploring the orange blossom costa by car. But, the apartment is also very near the historic central station and there are lots of cheap, local trains for getting up and down the coast. Cullera and Gandia are just a short journey away and well worth a visit. There are some lovely places inland too. Requena and Utiel are a short train ride away in the oldest wine growing reigion in Spain. There are some great bodegas to visit. Cheers!

Fantastic Holiday! The owners are a lovely couple and we found them to be very helpful, informative and most importantly available, should we need any assistance during our stay. Superb accommodation met all our expectations, in old traditional part of the city, only 10 minutes walk to the Bull Ring and large shopping malls, hosts of shops, Corte D'Inglese, Zara, Mango etc.,(shop till you drop city), restaurants, the elaborate Estacio del Nord the main train station and Xativa Metro station which we used frequently. Excellent public transport system, cheap and easy to use. Loved the architecture, amazing, a mix of different styles, both new and old, immense character and charm. Valencia is a perfect holiday destination to combine both a city and beach holiday - the beaches are numerous, you are always spoilt for choice. On the local beach sun umbrellas can be hired at 3.60 euros and a sun bed for 3.50 euros until 7.30pm in the evening, very convenient, no hassle and very enjoyable for a lazy day.
The apartment is spacious, well equipped and comfortable, tastefully furnished with cool marble throughout. The air con. is terrific absolute heaven, 2 bathrooms completely tiled from floor to ceiling, luxury if you are a party of 4. Both bedrooms have wrought iron balconies which over look the street, an added bonus to be able sit out on in the evening and unwind for 5 or 10 minutes with a lovely glass of chilled Rioja, 2.75 euros from the excellently stocked supermarket round the corner from the apartment. We found a fine wine merchants only 2 minutes away, a takeaway which prepares fresh spanish dishes daily, bars, restaurants and an undercover market selling fresh meat, veg, fruit and fish, the quality is very good, all on our doorstep. Our homemade paella was great!
The City of Arts and Sciences is a must visit, as is the Oceanografic, between July and the end of August a Dolphin Spectacular is performed, we went to the 10.45pm evening show, totally awesome. As was the F1 Grand Prix the organisation was impressive.

Valencia is a great and very colourful city, pace of life seems quite balanced, relaxed, far less hectic as in other big cities we have visited,.The weather is fabulous, everyone was friendly and the city felt safe, hence our decision to return next summer and have already booked the same apartment.
Thank you Gina & George
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for such a comprehensive review of your holiday. This is really informative for anyone thinking of renting this apartment and enjoying a holiday in the Russafa district of Valencia.

We were greeted by Gina and her family and felt right at home. A beautifully furnished apartment with all the amenities plus a well-stocked library. Much travel information was available in apartment too.

Apartment is a few blocks away from the train terminal, also from the bull fighting ring, actually up the street that separates these. The area is kind of funky with many restaurants and markets for families who are not eating out every meal.

Felt very comfortable with e-mail conversations with Gina prior to booking and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment.
Owner's Response: Lovely to hear Joe had such a good time and that he felt at home. I do try to take away some of the stresses of travelling, and the apartment helps with its lovely, relaxing atmosphere. And you are right Joe- Russafa is kind of funky! I hadn't thought of that!
