Nice and Quiet Holiday in the Countryside

Madi & Victor Maastricht, the Netherelands
Review Submitted: May 9, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
We really enjoyed staying in an old but recently-refurbished farmhouse, in the middle of a magnific scenery. Our hosts treated us like old friends, trying their best to make us feel confortable. The meals they served us were rich and tasty.
The location of B&B was really convenient, easily reachable from the motorway and suitable as a starting point for day trips in Normandy.

Easter at La Ferme des Montaigu

A beautiful farmhouse in a glorious place. It is beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard - the website just doesn't do it justice. The kitchen is well equipped and there are large areas for dining and for sitting and relaxing. The owners were charming and very helpful and allowed us to use their phone to sort out a broken windscreen. The kids loved their room and enjoyed running around in the wide open spaces. We would definitely like to go back, perhaps with friends and would recommend this property to anyone.

A charming B&B in a beautiful countryside

A french couple Caen ,France
Review Submitted: May 27, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
I've been there with my wife who is waiting fir a baby. The place is simply nice and beautiful. No pollution, no cars, no noise, a lake, lot of pathes across the normandy's country. It is close from caen (less than 1hour by car), coutances and Avranches.
Wendy & Phil are also working to get this place very nice by their true friendliness.
Thank you,
A french couple from Caen !

Normandy Bliss

Review Submitted: May 22, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
I wanted to show my girlfriend the pleasures of normandy as i hadn't visited for so long & she had never been to france.
We spent a long weekend-5 days-which was perfect to confirm my recollection of the country & for her to fall in love with it.
To give an idea of the area, two people at different times used the words 'normandy & calm' in the same sentence.
We visited in early may which saw all the trees/hedges...anything green,at their most GREEN.I thought england was green but la manche & the areas we drove through were unbelievable.
La Ferme des Montaigu with its 3 cats,2 kittens, chickens(fresh eggs every morning),ducks,3 piglets was as idyllic as in the pictures. When looking for the b&b look for the sign 'etang des montaigu' then take the next entrance (10 meters) into the b&b past La Ferme house.
The only surprise personally was the cost of fuel..& shoes.
Do not be in two minds whether or not to stay, just GO!!

Wendy and Philip extended a warm welcome, making for
a memorable trip and pleasant relaxing experience. They
were helpful in planning our visits to Bayeux and Mt.St.
Michael, as well as the D-day beaches. Be prepared for
a fine breakfast, excellent accommodations and genuine
french hospitality in truly neat and clean accommodations,
all at a very affordable rate. Our great find is now yours.

An Excellent Holiday

mancub Hampshire
Review Submitted: May 12, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
We wanted to revisit Mont St Michel & Villedieu and explore the Mortain region. 'La Ferme' proved to be the ideal location to do just that. Located within 5 mins of the motorway, but off the main roads it was also very quiet with no road noise. Mont St Michel is about 40 mins away. Villedieu only 6mins & the Mortain region just beyond.

The accomodation is very clean & comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. Tea & coffee facilities provided & TV/DVD CD player. My two daughters (aged 12 & 13) loved their double room & the ensuite shower. A very pleasant & relaxing place to return to each day.

The continental breakfast (included in the price) was superb, Tea/Coffee, Orange juice, cereals, yoghurt, ham, cheese, eggs & warm bread..... Like being in a Enid Blyton novel. (showing my age now).

The main meal (optional) should be seriously considered as excellent value for money. We don't think you could beat it on quality or presentation. Very relaxing and enoyable meals that do not stint on quantity or quality.

La Ferme itself is great fun to wander around.... be it playing with the cats, chickens, ducks & dogs; or bouncing on the trampoline, exploring the lake opposite (full of frogs). Or just sitting reading, talking or relaxing with a drink it is hard to fault, and we never did.

In short from the first welcoming cup of tea & bit of cake to the last farewell handshake Philip & Wendy are very pleasant company & excellent hosts. Providing lots of local knowledge & ideas. Always available for anything you might need.
An excellent holiday. We look forward to returning again, and have recommended it to all our friends, family & colleagues.

La Ferme Des Montaigu

Richard & Joan Buffalo, New York, USA
Review Submitted: May 11, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
Discovered La Ferme via the internet. In advance of our stay, Wendy was most helpful by providing driving directions from Paris & attractions available in the area. Welcoming cakes & beverages were provided upon our arrival. We occupied the spacious family-sized suite. Of particular note was the beautiful wood antique double bed. The bucolic atmosphere provided a very peaceful night of rest. The ample breakfast included cereal, yogurt, cooked eggs, a variety of breads & home made jam & was served in pleasant surroundings. Wendy & Phil were most cordial & made us feel at home. It is amazing to see the results of the their labor, which renovated their barn into this lovely B & B. From here we visited Le Mont St Michel. We certainly would recommend to a friend.

Wonderful place to decompress.

Wendy ,Paul and boys,Thank you so much for making our stay in France so special. The bed and breakfast exceeded our expectaions of accomodations. After staying in Paris, your quiet and peaceful setting was just what we needed to decompress. It was within driving distance of all attractions we wanted to see. Wendy's meals were delicious and very filling. Your family was very friendly and our boys felt comfortable interacting with your sons. The rooms themselves were comfortable and included everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Warm and Welcome stay at La Ferme Des Montaigu

Clive and Jacky Dartford Kent
Review Submitted: May 8, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
This has to be one of the best B&B that we have stayed in; the rooms are clean warm and full of character. The home made food must not be missed. The B&B is ideally situated to all the local attractions, which include Saint Mont Michelle, D-day beaches, to mention just a couple.
The county side is full of wide life and is a dream to explore. There is so much to do from walking, cycling, fishing, bird watching or visiting the local zoo and gardens. The only advice I would give anyone looking at visiting Phil and Wendy is to make sure that you book for at least a week, and still you will not see and do everything.
We were that impressed with the area that we have brought our own piece of the Normandy dream.
