Luxury and Privacy with true Hellenic Hospitality
My friend and I spent two weeks at this lovely villa and it was the best vacation of my life. As has been said by other reviewers, Nikos and Dina are awesome in so many, many ways. They met us at the airport and we followed them to the villa in our rental car. The villa is only 26 minutes from the airport but the last three kms are along unsigned, narrow, twisting, seaside roads. Very scenic but you could not find your way there alone, even with a GPS. The villa is perched on a gorgeous peninsula. The Agean surrounds you on three sides and there are at least six different patios where you can sit and enjoy views of the sea, sunrise and sunset. There is a large courtyard just outside the kitchen door with a massive barbeque and a dining area for 12 or more. Great al fresco dining. Large wooden doors can be opened from this courtyard for a view of the Agean east or west, or if it is breezy they can be closed to make the courtyard cozy. All of the outdoor spaces are well appointed with quality outdoor furniture, mature landscaping and well designed lighting to make for elegant nighttime dining or cocktails. Inside, the house is clean & cozy with breathtaking views from the lvg rm.The kitchen is recently renovated and well equipped. Nikos & Dina have even generously stocked up on many of the staples you need. I have rented many homes and have never encountered this level of detail and generosity. There are three bedrooms in the main house. The master has two patio doors, one set leading to a private east facing patio and the other to a small enclosed courtyard. The master has an ensuite bathroom with shower. The bedroom beside it, also ample and with a private patio uses the bathroom across the hall. A third bedroom off the kitchen uses an adjacent bathroom. None of the bathrooms have a bathtub, but this was not a problem for us as there is a wonderful deep saltwater pool to splash around in. There are three other bedrooms in a separate building just adjacent to the kitchen courtyard. We did not use these,so I really can't comment on them. We found we had easy access to Athens airport where we took the Metro into the city for our site seeing. The villa is also well situated for an easy drive to Lavrios (10km) or Sounion (12km?) for a seaside lunch or visit to Poseidon's Temple respectively. No matter how beautiful the rest of Greece is though, we were continually drawn back to the elegance and luxury of our own little piece of paradise at the villa Fillippos.
