Me and my family would like to share the friendly house 'Bruheim' that my grandparent build in the 1950`s. You can find the property in an excellent location right in the village of Eidfjord in the heart of Hardanger.
The house has 90m2. There is a kitchen with dishwasher, living room, dining area, a bathroom, two double and two single bedrooms. There are sliding doors between three of the bedrooms.
In front of the house is a covered veranda where you can sit in the evenings, with a glass of local cider, looking ower the river Eio who run through the village. We also have a fenced off children friendly garden, garden furniture, bbq, and parking.
Just a short walk from the house (bridge missing on the map) you find all necessary amenities like grocery store, post, bank, cafe, 3 restaurants, petrol station, gallery and a tourist information.
Beach 1km or 3km
Parking space for 2 cars.
Heat pump in the living room. Can be used as air conditioning in the summer.
Trips from Eidfjord: There are a lot of opportunity when you have Eidfjord as a base:
In Ulvik, a very nice village 30 min. away, you can visit farms and walk the 'fruit and cider route'
Galleri Hjadlane lies in Osa 10 min. drive from Ulvik.
In Jondal, about 2 hours away you can go skiing in the summer and you can also go glacier walking.
If you like to see traditional houses and handcraft go to Utne where the 'Hardanger Folkemuseum' lies (30min. + ferry) and eat a lovely lunch at Utne Hotel.
Go to Mikkelparken an amusement park for children, my girls love this place. It lies in Kinsarvik 30 min. by car.
Voss is also within easy to reach. (1 hour) Great for shopping and known for extreme sport . You can also take the popular trip 'Norway in a nutshell' whit the famous 'Flåmsbanen' (train) and boat trip in the Nærøyfjorden, from Voss.
Take a day trip to beautiful Bergen the second largest city in Norway.
The main season is the summer but we also have a winter season if you like skiing. In Maurseth, 30 min from the house, you will find a terrific cross country skiing area. Here is a floodlit tracking area and a slalom hill with ski lift.
