We had a wonderful time in Encinitas. The location couldn't have been better -- easy access from highway, on the beach, easy access to playgrounds, grocery stores, and them parks. Its a very strange house - for instance, all the kitchen and bathrooms counters are above chest height -- built for a family of giants? And the layout is odd. But the location and hot tub were all that mattered!

great staff support from dina. good location for daily walks on the beach. the stereo was not working but would have enjoyed music. would have been helpful to have non-perishables available such as coffee filters, Ziploc bags, tin foil etc. additional lighting in the kitchen and front rooms would be helpful. Overall, a great stay and will recommend to others!

We vacationed in California as a family in December 2012.Upon walking in the front door we all gasped at the beautiful view! The wall of sliding doors providing a unobstructed view of the ocean was amazing! Each room was clean and properly appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay! The only suggestion we would have would be more lighting in the kitchen. Having said that, the kitchen was beautiful and fun to cook in. It also had a large window facing the ocean that made washing the dishes a treat! We enjoyed sitting in the Jacuzzi while listening to the crashing of the ocean waves below us. There were plenty of chairs in the backyard for outside lounging and it was a great place to enjoy a morning hot chocolate. At night as we watched movies together on the large flat screen TV we enjoyed the coziness of the gas fireplace. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay! We recommend this home and company to anyone who is looking for a place to stay on the beach! 5 stars!

Relatives from French Canada came for a week, our house is not big enough so we rented this. They all loved it, did not want to leave. They kitchen is roomy and well equipped. There's a large common area to socialize, have meals, etc. They view and the deck are spectacular.

This was our first experience with BeachFront Only and we will definately return to one of your properties next year ! The propery is excellent. I have only 2 suggestions.
1) Tile all of carpeted areas as carpet is not hygenic.
2) Put a lock on the gate from the carport to the back yard for security reasons - anyone can currently walk right into the back yard which prevented us from sleeping with the sliding door open to enjoy the ocean air.

We spent a lovely but too-short 5 days enjoying the beach with lots of friends and family. The view was astonishing! The whole Pacific lies right there. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins swimming leisurely through the kelp beds one evening.

The unit is perfect for adults older kids who can go back and forth to the beach on their own. Little kids and our older parents found the path to the beach a bit difficult. Our teen and young adult children invited friends, and they were up and down the cliff all day to swim, boogie board, surf, and sunbathe, then up for snacks, hot tub, board games, and shade. Kahuna Bob gives surf lessons each morning right below the house, which should be arranged a few days in advance.

Our stay was during a rare startling heat wave, and the upstairs loft was too hot to use, but the kids made do with the sofa bed and an air mattress. Extra linens and pillows were conveniently provided.

The kitchen is fairly well-equipped, with a gas grill on the patio, and efficient dishwasher. There are two washers and three dryers, which seemed excessive until we needed to wash a few loads at once. The lighting in the kitchen and dining areas is funky - a dimmer would be nice.

We were concerned about noise and parking. However, we found that the neighborhood is surprisingly quiet at night -thanks to strict city ordinances. 3 small cars fit in the driveway, with another in front when needed.

Things to bring: binoculars, extra beach towels, board games (although there are a few in the unit), paper towels for kitchen and bathrooms, toilet paper, cutting boards if you cook a lot, a queen air mattress for the sofabed, and a movie or two.

Tasteful and comfortable duplex with very high countertops!

The house is really nice and we enjoyed our vacation thoroughly. We're somewhat puzzled, however, by the height of the countertops throughout the house. It was seemingly built for giants.
