Photos and Description of the Canary Wharf & Docklands vacation house rental
Beautiful 2 double bedroom period house in the heart of East London

The house is a former workers terraced cottage built in the 1890s. Recently renovated to a very high standard the house comprises 2 good sized double bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, lounge, dining area, hall and small back yard. The house can sleep 4 people comfortably, one bedroom has a double bed and the other a double which can be converted into 2 twin beds if necessary, there is also the option of an additional 2 guests on a sofa bed in the lounge.

The house would be an ideal choice for a family holiday in London due to the excellent transport links to all of the major tourist attractions. Mile End tube station is a 3 minute walk and is served by 3 different tube lines which means journey times to Tower of London of 12 mins, The London Eye 20 mins, The West End 15 mins and Buckingham Palace 25 mins. Also suitable for business travellers working in the Canary Wharf area or the financial district 10 minutes.

The house is situated in the heart of vibrant and multicultural East London, close to Queen Mary's University and a very short bus or tube ride down to Brick Lane and all of the wonderful curry restaurants. Within walking distance of the house are plenty of grocery stores, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The Regents Canal is 2 minutes away and makes a lovely walk up to Victoria Park and Victoria Park Village which is a charming area with lots of nice cafes, shops and restaurants.

Parking outside the house is free during evenings and weekends, but weekdays it is residents only. We can provide temporary parking cards valid for 4 hours at a time for shorter stays, but for longer stays a parking permit is required at £5 a day, please contact the owners in advance to arrange this.

Why Claire chose Canary Wharf & Docklands

It is a lovely, comfortable, traditional property which allows you an authentic London experience as opposed to staying in a West End hotel.

What makes this house unique

Great transport links and a lovely period house.

During last few years, we have been stayed on numerous rental houeses and this one was a really nice experience. At a very reasonable price comfort what they provide is really excellent.
Very friendly and co-operative couple. You don't feel boxed up like hotel rooms and at the same time you get everything you might need in the house, with nice rooms, kitchen complete, spacious bathroom and warm dinning room.
I recommend it and, if we can, I will repeat. Thanks for everything!! Luis

Nice Place in London

We have acted for one week in London. During this time we had a super old English house which was the best place to stay. The house was super equipped with all things which we have needed. The bathroom and the kitchen were conspicuous terrific rooms for an old house. And especially the beds were more than good. The area around was very interesting and good restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the house. Also flexible possibilities to go to town and these ones near the house. At last, very nice and friendly owners always reachable. So we wanna stay their again for a longer time.

Our family of five just stayed in the flat for three nights and it couldn't have been better. Everything we needed, from a washing machine and dishwasher to copious clean towels, was provided for and the owner was very on top of making sure everything was going well. Would definitely recommend this lovely and well appointed flat!

We stayed at Claire's house for 6 nights with 3 people. It was the perfect location for us to do all the things we wanted to do on our London holiday. The house is close to the Mile End tube station and you can also also take various buses to piccadilly circus and elsewhere. It is a quiet neighborhood and the house is small but has all the features one would expect. The pictures shown on Homeaway show you what you get. I am writing this because we have also experienced it differently. The bathroom is very big, also the shower. There are plans flying over the area, but we didn't find that disturbing, more interesting to see sometimes. Apart from that you don't hear any noises, which is very quiet for a city like London.
Claire is not only very helpful, she is very understanding and easy going. I was sick on our last day and was able to stay in the rental until we left for the flight at 5 p.m. since there was no party renting it on that day. This was a great relief, since I otherwise would not have known what to do. It was no problem with Claire and she was always easy to contact and there were no problems at all.
I would recommend this place for a London visit anytime. We liked Mile End with it's different neighborhoods. There is a great pub in walking distance and also a park and another area with nice shops and cafés and a fish store and butcher and so on. There is also a small cinema 3 bus stations or so away called Genesis we visited. Unfortunately we did not manage to visit the East London Mosque, because there was so much else to do, so maybe we will return. Thank you again, Claire.

family stay

we stayed for 10 days during the paralympics whilst our son was competing and had a great stay. The house was comfortable and well fitted out - appreciated the things you don't really want to buy like washing powder and washing up liquid being available. Public transport easily available buses and trains within a few hundred yards. Do try the pub - the Wentworth Arms - lovely friendly people had the best times there! - conveniently between the tube and the house! Only negative that the yard wasn't big enough to use for anything. Victoria Park well worth a walk especially with children - lake and lovely playground. Claire was very easy to deal with and helpful.

Nice victorian style house, big enough for five (or even 6) persons, situated close to the underground station (approx. 4 minutes by foot). Clean, with comfortable rooms, bath and kitchen.
We stayed there for 11 days in September and everything was perfect.

Stayed for a week during the Olympics. We ended up with a packed schedule & therefore spent a lot less time in the house then anticipated when we booked.

Everything was as described and in full working order. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. If 6 were staying it would be a squeeze to get everyone seated in the living room.

Very convenient for Mile End tube & there are a number of convenience stores and restaurants/fast food places within a few minutes walk

London visit

Submitted: July 21, 2012 Stayed: June 2012
I recently stayed in this London house with my husband,2 sons, and mother. It was exactly as we expected, maybe even better! The kitchen was beautiful and well stocked with pans, spices and even some bread, jam & milk for our coffee etc.. Claire was great to work with & she explained the subway system & even offered some ideas for the rest of our trip ( We LOVED Castle Howard!!).
We had no trouble getting to the new mall & Olympic site on our first night, and headed into London on the next day. We bought one of the hop on/off bus tour tickets & had a great tour of the city. We really enjoyed our visit & I would recommend this apartment for anyone visiting the city. Thanks again Claire!
