(Peaceful holiday home Sitting on a hillside just below the village of Loreto. Safe and friendly environment for relaxation). Villa Lourdes is a beautiful two bedroom Madeiran house with a modern extension tastefully added to the original stonewall house. The house was rebuilt 12 years ago, keeping all of its rustic charm and stonework. Why choose Madeira and Villa Lourdes.: Madeira is a beautiful Subtropical Island mostly unspoilt. It has a beautiful climate never to hot and never cold. The average annual temperature along the coastline is between 15 and 22 . Madeira means 'wood' in Portuguese named because of its forests. These Laurisilva forests are designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the 16th Century the Portuguese started building levadas to carry water to all parts of the Island for agriculture. These provide a great network of walking paths. All this only three hours and thirty minutes from most European Airports. Villa Lourdes is located in Arco da Calheta, the south coast which is noted for its better weather. The house is less than 5 min drive from Calheta Beach and Marina where you can find many amenities yet return to peace and quiet. Funchal is only 30 min drive and well worth a visit with its Old Town Museums Market and Cable car. But why pay so much for a very small hotel room when you can have an entire house all to yourselves.
