We booked this cottage on the day before we were due to fly out (due to unforseen circumstances at the property we were due to stay at) and Ben was fantastic, running around to organise our stay for eight people with only a few hours notice. We stayed at Cherry Tree cottage and were amazed at how big it was. Three bathrooms, just perfect for six children including two teenage girls and two adults! We only used the one kitchen as I generally did the cooking or we ate at the local pub which I must mention was fantastic. The owners spoke little English but on the occasions we went there was either an English speaking local (who told us he travelled from another village because the food here was so fab!) or we had our laptop on the idyllicprague.co.uk website and pointed things out on the menu. The man behind the bar was so sweet and let us try lots of different things before we ordered. The plates of food were huge, I mean huge!
There was a bit of snow and a lot of ice when we first arrived so we had a few walks into the next village along the cycle track and we also let the children have a play on the frozen pond (although I was holding my breath the whole time) but the locals were skating properly on it so it must have been ok.
The area is beautiful and the people we bumped into (not many to be honest) were all polite and welcoming. We took the bus into Central Prague a few times and it is all really simple. The bus stop is just around the corner from the pub. If you need to shop for groceries, get a taxi or hire car because its a long walk. We tended to go into the local Alberto supermarkets in the centre as they were cheaper. Theres a lovely indoor shopping precinct opposite the theatre and on the top floor there is a play area for children. Its 150 ck (about £5) for as long as you want, and the bonus... you can leave the children and go shopping in peace. My six year old loved it, and the others all sneaked in for a cheeky play too, panning for little crystals and pebbles. They loved it!
The old part where the famous clock is is beautiful and there are lots of little food stalls to try. Brilliant. Hot dogs in main part are cheap, about 20ck (80p) and there was an ice cream parlour at top of town which was so scrummy.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and couldn't have asked for a better service. The house was fully equipped and had lots of space, two washing machines and a dishwasher. Dan and Hana were a great help , and on direct dial on phone

The cottages (we rented both Cherry Tree and Conifer Cottages) were exactly as we expected. We had visited the location previous to our stay. The properties were very clean and well-maintained. The kitchens were well equipped and the welcome-package had all the necessities for the first morning. I would have liked to have some more kitchen towels for drying the dishes.

We had 28 people staying in the two cottages, which meant that most rooms had only 2 people (mostly couples). It was comfortable with having that many guests. Some of the rooms were next to a kitchen or a 'common' room and therefore could get a little louder. This should be thought of when having many people who might have different schedules for waking up and going to sleep, our friends and family were quite considerate of the others in the house.

The owner provided wonderful customer service. We exchanged many, many emails regarding the properties, as well as much assistance with some wedding preparations from the owner and their Czech helpers. Ben and Hana were both instrumental in making sure that our event went well and that we had only a few hiccups.

Our wedding had 65 people. On the Friday night, we had 60 people over to the Cherry Tree Cottage for a catered meal. The gardens would have been large enough, but due to the weather we used the garage and driveway. This was also sufficient in space and allowed us to set up some speakers and the tables for the food and drinks. Our ceremony took place in the garden of Cherry Tree Cottage where we had the chairs arranged in a circle. Our musicians sat inside the house with the french doors opening onto the garden (to protect their instrument should it quickly start to rain, which luckily it did not). The garden chairs provided by the owner were perfect for our event. Our dinner and party was held at the nearby Detaillo restaurant. I would recommend this property.

The bus service is convenient to enter the city, although you must watch the schedule and be aware that it can be very very busy around rush hour times. Many guests travelled daily to Prague for sight-seeing and eating. For getting some supplies (groceries and such), a rental car was very helpful. For guests with walking problems, it would be highly recommended to have a rental car. Overall, all guests were happy with their stay in Cerny Vul. People in the village were very nice and tolerant of being overrun with wedding guests for a week.

We really enjoyed the property. Plenty of room and nicely furnished. It is close to Prague by either car or bus. The owners were able to provide plenty of information on the local area and how to get around the area. Couple of nice restaurants of very good standard nearby.
