We have lived in Spain in the Alpjurras since 2003. We spent 3 years doing up the property in Orgiva and subsequently rented it out for holidays. We spent any spare time that we had, searching for another property but this time near to the sea. We were delighted when we found this old town house in the little Spanish village of Maro. We love the Spanish way of life and enjoy renovating properties. Although we both grew up in the UK (me in Surrey and Nigel in Manchester) I had spent 6 years living in Spain in the 1980's and wanted to come back here to live. Nigel was looking for a new adventure so was more than happy to try Spain.
This old town house is in the quiet Spanish village of Maro. within walking distance of bars, restaurants and a couple of shops. It is 5 minutes drive into Nerja or 30 minutes walk. The property has been done up to a high standard and is very comfortable.
It is an authentic Spanish village. The bourganvilla in the courtyard, the views of Nerja and the sea from the upstairs patio and the way it lent itself to be modernised whilst being able to keep the character of the house, are what made us choose this property over the many others that we looked at over the 8 years it took us to find it.
