Based on the prior reviews of Pebble Beach, and our initial and subsequent communication with the owner, we had certain expectations of this rental. We are pleased to say that our 9 days at Pebble Beach far exceeded what we had hoped for. First, Mikee was very prompt and pleasant in her communication prior to our arrival, and once there, Ann simply could not have been more helpful and gracious. Having lived in Kona Paradise for 25 years, Ann is exceptionally knowledgeable about the entire Kona/Kohala coast and has many excellent resources available.

As for the home itself: Perfect. Well planned architecturally, with a lanai off each bedroom, large living area, tasteful and functional furnishings, and an extraordinarily well-stocked kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, and the ocean breezes were just right for a good night's sleep. The whole place is immaculate, the grounds esthetically appealing, and Pebble Beach and the coastal trail are just a short walk away.

I am writing this review from another VRBO rental on the Kohala coast, which is quite adequate, but certainly not in the same class as Pebble Beach. My wife and I agree that Ann has spoiled us for any other place on the island, and we are looking forward to returning to Ann's place in the future. We could not have been more pleased, and highly recommend it to others.

My wife and I stayed 8 nights at this house at Pebble Beach, and had a very enjoyable, relaxing time. The house is very comfortable and roomy, and was decorated for Christmas. You can hear the waves washing on the beach in the distance, and it was a very quiet, secluded spot. Ann loaned us the kayak and we made several trips along the coast and did a lot of snorkeling. The paved road down to the beach from Highway 11 is very steep, but we didn't have any problems going up and down. We would highly recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a relaxing stay in a remote location away from the city and traffic.

Just spent two wonderfully relaxing weeks with Ann. This was our second time to stay in this home. It is lovely, clean, and fully furnished. Snorkeling at the pebble beach is excellent, and everything you need for the beach is provided. We would highly recommend this location.

I would definitely recommend this property to those who do not want the "resort" experience. The house and grounds were immaculate. It was a two minute walk to the beach (small, round rocks, not sand) that ever had few if any people on it. We hiked, kayaked, and snorkeled from there with no one else around. The snorkeling was great, and Ann provided everything we needed for the beach and a one day outing. Went home refreshed and rejuvenated!

Very lovely property. Nicely decorated, very clean, and well-stocked. Lots of attention to detail. Loved the lanai which offered bird watching and a view of the ocean. Ann was accessible and helpful when needed. She offered lots of privacy to us which is what we like. We used the snorkeling equipment which was excellent! It's great to walk to a small pebble beach from the house. I give this a 4 instead of 5 stars because of small things. The first night we arrived the neighbors were a little loud, so much so we chose to sleep on the other side of the house rather than the master suite. Ann has put in a privacy fence so the view of the neighbors is blocked which is nice. The view is beautiful, but a little bit more limited than expected and has power lines right across the street on the oceanside. A few streets up in the neighborhood would offer sweeping ocean views, but of course then a longer walk to the beach.

An absolute wonderful time. Ann is a wonderful host. Great location. On our first day we took a jaunt over to the volcano. Plenty of time for hikes - through the lava tube, across Kilauea Iki, and then down to the surf. Snorkeling is wonderful at Pebble Beach, and Two-step and Captain Cook’s are very close. Ann let us borrow a kayak. We strapped a cooler on the craft and paddled across Kealakekua Bay. Saw dolphins, eels, and many varieties of fish. The road into the house is very steep. Keep your eyes peeled on the horizon. Yah, the driver *should* be watching the road, but we saw a whale attempt flight. I think something had ahold of its tail, because that didn’t quite make it out of the water.
The house has a wonderful setup. The kitchen had everything we needed. The neighborhood feels very safe. We ate out on the lanai every morning and most evenings. The geckos, including one with an orange tramp-stamp, visited on the periphery. It was a very relaxing vacation.

A wonderful place to stay. Very quiet and comfortable. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

First time on the Big Island,my husband and I wanted to relax and have peace and quiet! Thats exactly what we got!!! This home is beautiful in every way!! The kitchen has EVERYTHING you need down to spices,paper towels and so on. The home decor is unique and we felt as if we were in our own little Hawaiian world!! Could hear and see the ocean,watched geckos run around outside on the deck, smells of fresh flowers came in from outside and watched the sun set from the large deck. The owner Ann is a very sweet lady and is full of information! We would recommend this home to any couple who needs to get away. Instead of staying at a resort with tons of people around, stay here!!!! Beach is a minute walk away with great snorkeling,which Ann provides all sorts of water toys and snorkeling gear. Hope to stay here again next year!!!!
