Photos and Description of the Cascais vacation cottage rental
1 Double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 5/6

Charming cottage with a lovely garden set in a quiet residential street only a few minutes’ walk from the beach and the historic centre of Cascais. Close to the road to Guincho and a few minute’s drive from Quinta da Marinha (Golf Course, Health Club and Spa). Newly renovated and decorated by its owners for own use, the property has a wood-panelled ceiling and is set over two floors. It is tastefully furnished and combines comfort and relax with design and art deco antiques. Ground floor accommodation comprises a large living room with 'fall-into' sofas, a dining area with 8 seats and double doors to the garden, a reading room, a complete bathroom and a spacious and fully equipped kitchen with an ample lunch area which may also be used as playground for kids and includes a football table. The first floor has 3 luminous bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other 2 with twin-beds. The garden, with a nice terrace, is ideal for relaxing, kids playing and outdoor eating.

About Cascais and its surroundings : Situated close to the sea and traditionally a fishing village, Cascais is a charming, historic town with a nice beach and plenty to visit as well as restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. The world famous for surfing Guincho beach, which hosts the Windsurf World Championship League, is 10 km from Cascais.

Cascais is also famous for the yachting club and race tracks, and, of course, the golf courses. It is close to Estoril, with the famous Casino and beautiful beaches. The romantic world heritage town of Sintra is only a 30 minutes drive away.

Golf information : Portugal is a golfer’s paradise. The golf courses of Oitavos, Quinta da Marinha, and Estoril are nearby. And three other golf courses, Penha Longa, Estoril, and Lisbon Sports Club are within 30min range.

Getting there and around : Cascais can be reached by car from Lisbon airport in 40 - 60 minutes, via the A5 motorway or the more scenic Marginal road along the estuary. Alternatively you can take an airport bus from Arrivals direct to Cascais Bus Station. There is a variety of local shops and restaurants within walking distance from the cottage. There is a bus service (BusCas) every seven minutes to the town centre and train station. Taxis are close by or can be ordered.

We will be happy to provide further tourist and transports information on your contact or arrival.

We loved the villa and Cascais

We have really enjoyed staying in this villa in Cascais. The property is very well equipped, immaculate, spacious and comfortable. The owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating - no request was too much trouble. It was a great place to stay with younger children as there was no clutter and the garden was fully enclosed, not to mention the toys, dvds and dressing-up we found there on our arrival. The only thing missing was a washing machine for longer visits.

The large municipal park was literally 2 minutes walk with lovely play equipment, peacocks and a cafe and the local (sandy) beach was just 10 minutes away (children's walking pace). The charming town had everything we needed and we managed quite happily with buses, trains and occasional taxis (which were very reasonably priced despite the poor exchange rate), although there was parking available at this property. We managed to visit Sintra by bus easily (from the bus station under Cascais Villa Shopping Centre) - it's worth getting a daytrip ticket for the hopper bus that takes you to all the tourist attractions when you get there (several are way out of the town).

I wholeheartedly recommend this great property and location for a relaxing and interesting holiday.

A week in Cascais

We spent a lovely week in Claudia's house in Cascais.
Claudia was very professional and a pleasure to deal with.
We were attending a family wedding in Lisbon, the day after
the wedding quite a large number of the wedding party came
over to the house and they were all impressed at how comfortable
and homely the house was. Thank you Claudia. If we decide to
return to this lovely part of the world again we will be looking you
up.

The cottage is very charming and great for a family holiday. The kids loved playing in the garden and has enough space to run around. Also the bedrooms are cozy and our daughter loved the girly bedroom with a trunk full of dress up clothes. The kitchen als has a lot of toys and is convienently located near the garden. The location is great for the beaches and the park. We like to come back soon...

Beautifull cottage in a wonderfull town.

We stayed here from 17th Sept - 1st Oct and enjoyed every minute of it. Our party consisted of 4 adults and two young children (2 and 3). The house was perfect, the boys really loved all the toys and the dressing up box was a hit! Even though it didnt have a washing machine we just hand washed everything at the end of the day and so didnt really miss having one! Our only negative was the back bedroom with the pull out bed we though would work better as a double as the pull out bed kept moving if you moved whilst in it! The cottage is very well equipped and very clean. The garden is wonderfull as is the fig tree!

We loved Cascais such an amazing town. Its a beautifull old town with lots of alleys hiding wonderfull buildings and lovely restaurants. The nearby park is a must for children so well thought out and the play area is amazing. We spent many days at the beach in Cascais (by the train station) and at Quincho beach which was stunning. We also found the transfer from the airport which Claudia helped arrange very reasonable and a stress free start and end to the holiday. We hired a car for one of the weeks and although this was helpfull in getting to the beach at Quincho and the supermarket we didnt really need to have it as everything is within walking distance and attractions such as Sintra are easy to get to via the red tourist bus. I would highly recommend this cottage, it has so much around it that after two weeks we still felt we could have stayed for another two weeks and not been bored!

Great house in a region with things for everyone

We have stayed in this house for one week with a coulple of our friends. It was ubelievalble clean and tidy when we arrived. I've worked in a 5-star hotel and had not seen it this clean before...

The house was great for four adults, but that is also the max because you need to share one bathroom.

What we like most is that is lies in a quiet neighbourhood, but is still very close to the center of Cascais.

We would recommend this house to anyone!!!! All credits for Claudia!!!

Beautiful Cascais!

The cottage was perfect for our group of friends to have a relaxing holiday. It is within easy walking distance of the Cascais marina/centre and the train station. But also set back enough to be lovely and quiet. There is plenty of space to relax and also eat indoors if the sun proves too much. The outdoor space was perfect for our needs, however the garden is probably a little small for families with young children.
The owner was very helpful and accommodating.
I would definitely be keen to stay here again!

A lovely property

I cannot recommend this property highly enough. It is very well situated within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, parks, beaches, the train and bus stations, etc. Inside it was spotlessly clean and so well equipped that it is hard to think of anything that was missing, apart from a washing machine. The furniture is all very comfortable and in excellent condition and there are many thoughtful touches like books, games, toys, etc. Claudia is an exceptional hostess and her thoughtfulness and helpfulness adds to the overall experience.

Cascais is a great location for a holiday. In addition to the pleasures of the town, getting to Lisbon is easy and inexpensive. The trip I would not have missed was to Sintra - it is well worth several visits.

All in all we hope to return Cascais and this property again.

Cascais Holiday

This is a lovely cottage style holiday home, nice and cool when it is hot. It is near all amenities, with a lovely park for children nearby. Claudia (the owner) could not be a better host, she arranged taxis for us and also arranged to have some lunch waiting for us after our flight from London. All amenities are in good condition and there is plenty of space. I believe anyone would enjoy their stay here.

Family Holiday Cascais

My husband and I and our adult family had a fantastic holiday in Cascais. We rented Claudia's cottage and a townhouse overlooking the Fisherman's Beach.
There is so much for everybody in Cascais - fantastic weather, beautiful old town and beaches, gorgeous restaurants with fresh fish every day (definitely recommend Dom Pedros), Guincho Beach by bus or taxi, Lisbon by train and no need to drive. Cascais has it all.
I loved Claudia's house. It was quiet even though very close to the centre and beautifully cool and comfortable. The figs from the tree in the garden were lovely for breakfast.
We had a very friendly and professional service from Claudia from the time I sent the first enquiry regarding her house.
